It's kind of interesting that much of what we think of as "Dark Age superstition" was actually just people working under the assumptions of Classical authorities like Galen who were thought to be too brilliant to be challenged. (It's also fascinating how many things we associate with the Middle Ages, like these Plague suits and people never bathing, are actually from later periods that we think of as being more "enlightened." Actually, the topic of bathing in the Middle Ages would make an interesting video topic.)

The ooze fell for about 3 days covering a few square miles and made people extremely sick. i knew before watching this video, herbs and perfume are on those beak, but "plague doctor" really looks scary, no wonder people at that time scared when they see a "beaked mysterious man" come to their town or villages.

And now if you see such a doctor, it might be seeking a cure for pestilence. So make sure he doesn't touch you.

In the shadows of my weary soul, Where sorrow weaves its somber role, A symphony of tears unbind, In the quiet depths of my mind. Each drop a verse, a silent plea, Echoing pain that none can see, Through whispered sighs and heavy sighs, My sadness lingers, never dies. In the quiet of the moonlit night, My heart reveals its hidden plight, A melody of melancholy strains, Amidst the echoes of my pains. Yet within this darkness, a glimmer shines, A beacon of hope in dim confines, For even in sadness, I find a trace, Of light that illuminates this space. So let my sadness be a song, A testament to where I belong, For in its depths, I learn to see, The beauty of my humanity.
