This is a good quality recording. Thank you for properly taping this on a tripod and using a zoom, as well as using good quality audio equipment. So refreshing to hear a great recording of a live band! It is totally appropriate to see a band member turn around and adjust the volume on the Fender amplifier to get the sound she needs. This is a really good recording and the reality and sincerity come through. Fine band, Fine recording.

I think it's funny how many dudes want to say Susan's only okay on guitar, like they find such a possibility surprising. We've all been watching "okay" guitarists our whole life sprinkled with great ones. Susan's talents far surpass so many dudes I've seen in my day it's a joke. Listen to her -- them -- here, experiment, reach, branch out. They're rocking Blind Faith, for god's sake. And all some of you can say is, "Susan's only okay"? On a Blind Faith song. With Derek Trucks. Okayyyy.

@@mikegallagher2732 Come on. She can play, but there are literally thousands of players better than her. I could name 100 easy right off the top of my head. Hendrix, SRV, Beck, Alan Holdsworth, Prince, John Mayer, Santana, Alex Lifeson, EVH, Dimebag, Rhoads, Tom Morello, Jake E Lee, John Sykes, Yngwie, Vai, Satriani, Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson, Eric Gales, Gary Clark Jr, Bonamassa, Lang, KWS, Kingfish, Samantha Fish, Joanna Connor, Jackie Venson, Deborah Coleman, Petrucci, Skolnick, Devin Townsend, Tosin Abasi, John 5....., and those are the ones that come to mind immediately. Hell, Trucks blows her away right in this same video. She isnt even close to his level.

At a show years back this drunk (?) guy came up to me four or five times (he thought I was another person each time I’m pretty sure) & kept talking about how beautiful she is (she is!) …and that she can play guitar well for a girl. That combined with being “hot”. Other than the fact that it was hilarious given he thought he was saying this to different people each time I was like ummmm…. Whaaaat?! And im sorry bro but if she were beautiful or not she plays guitar beautifully & that’s what matters

For all the people wondering about the “Lay out”, seems like Derek didn’t want another guitar in the mix so he could take out his in-ears and hear his guitar sound. I don’t think this was some marital problems, I think the band/venue was just not having a good sound day, it happens. Edit: In his Rig Rundown from a few years back, Derek’s tech says he doesn’t use/like in-ear monitors, this could be him wanting to try them and it’s just not working.

Krieger, Santana, Clapton, Angus, and now Derek. All SG players for at least part (if not all) of their careers. Each with such different styles and tones. I’m thinking the SG is a much more versatile instrument than I have given it credit for.

Passionate vocals and crunchy guitar solos of Susan and Derek. Blind Faith would be amazed of this performance. A song with some unusual chord progressions, but gives a lot of space for guitar solos, right? And a funny moment of the keyboardist up from 6:20 in the course of the ongoing technical problems. Love this song! The first time I've heard it. Will check out the original. Gabe, Susan, Derek are in wonderfully fine form despite tentions in the band. It's probably different for all of them to work in this smaller setting too, the jugganaught that is TTB isn't happening at the present. Itoo hope there aren't marital issues going on between this muisiccally brilliant and most humble of and musically honest rockstar - without the fakeness - couple. I'd be devastated if there were.
@kirbyharris30873 жыл бұрын
I also meant to add that the singing of Gabe blends magnificently with Susan's molasses voice; wonderful to have her wonderfully brilliant guitar-playing on show too. And Derek's as well. Their different playing styles compliment each other rather than one being better than the other I think. It makes sense he's playing rhythm therefore he'd need to keep his eyes locked on Falcon. Does anyone know what "lay out" means? I'd like to know is all. Great vidio and great audio thanks for posting you're a legend.
