James Smith Kofi's going is going to have a big impact. I know Derek has lost his Uncle Butch and others, but they weren’t stalwarts of his band. Whoever they get on keyboards on a permanent basis will be compared to Kofi Burbridge, by the band as well as the fans. They are big boots to fill, and one negative vibe can seriously affect others around them. I’m hoping not in this case, but you’ve got a group of people hurting badly because they’ve lost a much loved member as well as a great musician and arranger.

As someone who just recently discovered this band my early impression of DT is that he, having likely grown up around ultra famous people, learned humility early. He comes across as completely unassuming, nothing "rockstar" about him, and yet he completely blows the place away in the vids Ive seen. That dichotomy along with Susans soulful voice is nothing short of amazing. Its easy to imagine Sky Dog looking down and smiling.

Saw the band last night at the London Palladium on their second Sold Out night, the atmosphere was electric and they just ooze the love of the music - as did the audience. Pure class from start to finish... I just wish Derek would face the audience more, we want to see his fingers not his back... and what a voice Susan has... I think I'm in love. If this doesn't get your soul jumpin' - you must be dead!

Is that tele "Sherwood Green" ? I love Sherwood Green Teles with rosewood necks! Back in 79 my friends dad had one and he let me play it. It was one of those real early 60's pre CBS teles and one G chord was all it took. The heavens parted what a great neck that thing had.

You nailed it .. I dislike comparing guitar players especially styles .. you could argue that everything SRV ever played was already done by Albert King and Jimi Hendrix.. Trucks is actually trying to invent his own voice and has quite well .. I guess people will always have the Duane argument but Trucks has gone so deep now that watching and listening to him unfold himself live is an emotional experience!

she sounds like so much like Bonnie Raitt, and thats a good thing. I dont like (usually) a female fronted band. But this band is not really fronted, they are a unit. With eachs outstanding abilities spotlighted at different times. I can feel this!!!!!
