The musical partnership of married duo Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks has grown in size and scope over the last 10 years. World Cafe's contributing host, Kallao catches up with Derek and Susan to talk about the inspiration behind their latest collection, I Am The Moon. This project consists 24 songs spread across four albums, each with a corresponding film.

I learned of both these wonderful musicians through WXPN and World Cafe in the late 90s, early 2000s. Thanks for amplifying simply one of the best bands and two of the most genuine souls around!

I have exactly the same comment! Trouble is they do so much good stuff that they can't do it all on tour. I thought they were faultless. My late sister was due to go last night as well. She would have loved it. My wife was blown away by the performance. That gave me so much pleasure - another marital bond. I will never forget it. She said I had a grin on my face all night! I have waited so long to see them in the UK. I have nothing but admiration for the musicianship of all of the band. Derek has no peers on slide guitar. Susan has such a great voice full of blues guts - and boy can she can play guitar. And the other band members - well thank you guys! Stick together you have a good thing going! Can't wait until next time.

I took a mate who had never heard the band before and he loved every minute, didn't stop talking about the concert all the way home.

I was at the Manchester gig on Wednesday too....I travelled from Cornwall to see them for the first time... I've been to hundreds of concerts and I have to say it was the best I've seen...the skill and musicianship in this band is just outstanding....there was a few songs they sadly didn't play but I was totally blown away by the whole evening....and I was pretty close to front.....hope they come back to the UK soon....glad you had a good night too

@@greggcashmore805 blimey that's a long journey. We only had to get back to Birmingham! To be honest after the performance they put on I would consider going to USA to see them. I wonder how many people actually saw/heard them for the first time in Manchester?

@@greggcashmore805 That is some journey one we know well my wife Chris is a Cornish Lass from Falmouth, hopefully you were staying over in Manchester, it took us nearly two hours to get back to Chester as the M56 was closed from J5 to J8. Still worth the hassle for such a fabulous evening.
