I love her philosophy of her guitar. Speaks about her long journey as a musician, and how far she's come, not to mention very vintage sounding. Her soloing and phrasing is very indicative of classic blues. Great collaboration.

Tedeschi Trucks is the single best touring band on the road today, for good number years running now. Amazing stage orchestration, monster musicianship, and a band that seems to enjoy themselves, enjoys being together, and they all get there space and moments in the mix. It's amazing.

I agree. I've gotten to see them five times. They are always great! It's one of those shows where you just let the music, vibe and entire event just wash over you. I have a hard time explaining it to anyone who has never gone.

Fantastic. She is really one of the great vocalists of her time but under appreciated as a guitar player. Which is pretty understandable when Derek Trucks is also in your band.

The first time I saw Susan was when she opened for Jeff Beck at the Roseland in NYC. Probably March of... 2001? I saw here several more times over the next two years as a solo act. Then she and Derek got married and I saw her quite a few times with the Allmans at the Beacon. I love Susan's music. Just Won't Burn is a killer album, with a lot of top talent on it.

Oh man, I love Marty, Sue AND Tim Gearan (such a great singer/songwriter/entertainer & dude). Sue and I are about the same age; I grew up maybe 3 or 4 miles from her…my friends and I used to drive by her house when we were, umm, partaking in a certain herb (we didn’t know it was her at the time but just wanted to see the cool house that the Tedeschi’s had in Norwell). I imagine that - while my friends and I were being delinquents, she was probably diligently practicing in her room 😊. One last thing - I just got the 25th anniversary release of Just Won’t Burn on vinyl 🤌🏼 so good!

I feel privileged to have seen Susan playing numerous times in jam sessions at Hole In the Wall (a now defunct dive bar - a dive bar in so many ways, and the stage was so small) in Dallas in the late 90s - the blues there was awesome, after all Susan was there among other fantastic players. She had the stickers on that guitar then - a neat unique look. Seeing Hash Brown, who ran the jam, pick several players out of the crowd to play together, see a short chat among them, then the awesome music come out amazed me. I asked Holland K. Smith (who led a song, and another excellent musician) what they discussed before the son, and he said, "I told them we're going to play a shuffle blues in E starting on the 5 chord". I had no idea people, who often didn't know one another or having ever played with each other, could do that. It was inspiring.

I saw her playing what was her first "big" gig at an Oregon state park with Delbert McClinton. She was kind of shy and funny but when she started to play ... it was magical. Been a fan ever since. Also, Steve Basset was playing piano and being from Virginia, I went near the front of the stage to holler "Play Sweet Virginia Breeze." I also planned to ask him to ask Delbert to let go of Susan once in a while because he seemed to be clinging to her more than many loud people in the audience liked. I got out one "Hey Steve play Sweet Virginia Breeze" but 2 security guys - big security guys, objected in a convincing way. Told them it was my Birthday, I knew Steve, and Delbert's concert was my best present. Ended up getting 2 free beers and an invitation to celebrate with the band later. My girlfriend rescued me and I found out later they weren't real security guys, but some bikers who had the T-shirts and spent time taking beers from people and fighting. Good times!
