Do ya need to Teflon tape the threads of the valves in to the pvc...? I'm installing my halo/hoop in fishroom number 1 of 3 today, finally... I think I've watched and read everything that I could find on the interwebs... Thanks for the info/education...! Keep up your good work and go enjoy some nature today...!

If using a diaphragm pump, where should the pump & pipes be located in relation to tanks? In other words, is the air pressure better for filters if the pipes and pump are closer to the tanks as opposed to high up on the ceiling? Thank you!
@TedsFishroom4 жыл бұрын
The shorter the pipes/hoses/tubing the higher the pressure. That is something that I did not fully realize until I had built out a few systems. And it turns out the that it is airline that has the biggest negative impact on the pressure. So it would be better to run the delivery pipe as close to the tank as possible and have the airline drops shorter. But there are trade offs. Higher pipe may be easier to mount to the wall/ceiling and easier to access to install more valves or adjust valves. And keeping the delivery pipe above the tanks eliminates the need for check valves to prevent back siphon.

Is the silencer or bleed valve 1/2" or 3/4" thread. Cant find them here in Australia.
@ScrivGaming3 жыл бұрын
Please give me a link to where you got the 4mm valves from :)
@Joricano2 жыл бұрын
Did you have to glue the connections? I seen some where it says you have to glue and others where it says you don’t need to. I’m guessing the overall pressure on the pipes is only about 2 PSI right?

Hello Ted, thanks for the videos keep them coming, I wanted to ask what kind of air blower will you recommend me for my uncle, I live in Australia, my uncle lives in Cuba and he has a shed (30meters long by 15 meters wide) I know he has lots of tanks and fish there. How many litres is your blower because I commented him about your set up and he is looking for something with lots of power. Please if you can tell me more or less your blower specs if possible, to have an idea of can I get him. Thanks in advance
@TedsFishroom6 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow response... if you can get him a linear piston air pump, I would go that route. they use less power. A 120 watt pump should be able to handle about 100-120 drops, so long as the water is not too deep.

Hello Ted. Recently found you and LOVING the videos.. please can you make a video explaining how to setup a successful canister filter. Thanks :D

Ted the nickel plated lever vales you are using are they the self taping types? Kens ans Jehmco have self taping ones but Drs Fosters and Smiths have one you need to tap your self. I require 300 valves I have been using the brass thumb screw style valves but after watching your video a couple times I think it is worth the change. Can you recommend a good place to buy the valves in bulk must ship to Canada?
@TedsFishroom8 жыл бұрын
+Brad Clayton I suspect the Jehmco.com can sell to Canada. I use the tap that they suggest for each valve

If you use a cap at the end of pipe or hose, that is a dead end.

@TedsFishroom6 жыл бұрын
