Indian classical pieces don't have any written sheet music and it's not given enough importance in our own country maybe that's why I began learning Western classical and chose piano as my instrument. But there's something different, transcendental about Indian classical music too. I wish we had written music too. But maybe one day when I've achieved the mastery I would love to give our music a try too and I hope I don't give up playing piano out of frustration 😅😅

There are almost no indian classic music players who play raagas on piano. I feel there's a market to corner there.

@@akshaykumart.r.3523 well that's quite an insight but nothing is impossible. They can be played, there can be a slight difference but it doesn't mean they are unplayable. No one has done piano arrangements of Ragas this looks like an opportunity. If not me someone else who has a far better understanding of our music and piano should give a try. You never know what one might create. Franz Liszt one of the greatest Western Classical pianist has done piano arrangements of symphonies, violin pieces maybe someone out there reading this comment could try making piano arrangements of Raggas too.

@@akshaykumart.r.3523 well ragas can be played on the harmonium. Can be played on santoor. Neither allows bending.

@@AAG007that's far from truth It is improvisation yet it has to be within a strict framework. And the timing of Indian classical music is very complex .

It is not a song, both Hindustanis classical music (classical music of North India) and Carnatic (South Inida) has ragas, which use vocal chords as an instrument. Differnt ragas differ in their manipulation of notes - High to low etc..this was seems to be Bhimplasi

He spoke honestly and sincerely and a lot more naturally than a lot of the mechanical and perfectionist TedX speakers I am accustomed to watching. He seemed happy and certainly made me so too. It isn’t everyday that I stay on one video for 18 long minutes. No one can ever say too much about music and decidedly, one who attempts to do so, at least in a single sitting, shall but goof up and botch.
