His work is distinguished for its inventiveness and its tenacious optimism in the power of design.
Based in Montreal, in 2009 Cormier became a knight of L’Ordre National du Québec, the highest distinction for individuals who have contributed to the development and leadership of Québec.
He was also selected as an Emerging Voice for North America by the Architectural League of New York.
