It’s easy to get stuck thinking that the challenges of the digital era are so big that there’s nothing we can do about them. Building on principles of positive psychology, Amy Blankson confronts our “tech-victim” mentality and arms listeners with tools to fight back at the attention economy of likes and social media self-promotion. Playful yet poignant, her presentation challenges us to promote a future of digital well-being by cashing in now on our own ATMs for positive change. Amy Blankson is the author of the bestselling book The Future of Happiness and a co-founder the Digital Wellness Collective, a forward-thinking global group of educators, mental health practitioners, software developers, and champions of tech for good working to enhance human relationships through the intentional use and development of technology. Blankson contributes regularly to Forbes, is a member of the UN Global Happiness Council, and serves as a fellow of the World Innovation Organization. She is the only person to receive a Point of Light from two US presidents. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. 1.The pain of mind is worst than pain of body 2.Excellence is not being the best, it's doing your best. 3.Failure isn't the opposite of success ,but part of success 4.There is no way to become a perfect person but there are a million ways to become a good one. 5.Any good apology has three parts: 1-I am sorry 2- It is my fault 3-What can I do to make right? Most people forget the third part 6.The depth of your struggle determines the height of your success. 7.Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened. Thanks for reading

“We are not victims of technology. We can control our future but it’s going to take being a little more thoughtful about our approach.” “Optimism is the belief that our behavior matters.” Awareness is important, but we can’t stop there or we will feel like victims. We need to know how we can change our behavior for the better - how do we use technology in a healthy way? And we need to magnify the good examples of those who have a healthy relationship with technology. “We are moving out of the age of information and into the age of imagination.” 65% of the jobs of the future don’t exist yet today. “Is technology distracting? Yes. Is technology consuming? Yes. Can technology be addicting? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes.” “Fear is a powerful motivator, but HOPE is a better one.” I loved this POWERFUL talk. Really resonates with me. We can all be more mindful about our use of technology so that it is worth it. Tech has changed my life for better and for worse, but becoming aware of my use of technology has helped decrease the downsides of tech use. I loved Amy’s book too. Keep spreading goodness in the world!

Whenever you go out and find baren land while travelling, on a highway throw these seeds. They will germinate easily the coming monsoon. If with this act we can contribute even a single tree each to our world, our mission is successful. It wud b wonderful if all of us also join this and contribute back to our next generations world

The power of Artificial Intelligence algorithms are far more powerful than average people, especially if they are not warned & educated about what big tech companies are doing to their minds and what they are doing with their private information! And how it is being used against the best interests of average people 😯

I'm checking social media once or twice every day. I'd rather talk to friends on the phone than sending messages. I do not expose my private life at all on social media, but I participate randomly in discussion groups about things things that are of special interest to me, not otherwise. I do not find it hard to leave it for days or weeks. This way I feel that I am in control of the technology and not the other way around.

I will recommend you to see video by Jay Shetty on FOMO. It's been 3 months I have left social media after 12 years. Recently, I logged in again on Instagram and I go through my posts which were great but I knew the intention and energy I put on them..it was not worth it. I simply deleted my account. Because everyone was posting same old stuff. I am no more addicted to it. Therefore I don't feel missing out anything.
