@beyzaaydn29745 жыл бұрын
That social pressure... Because of it I started eating it and I keep eating 2 weeks but then I feel worse and I understand even better that it is pure poison. That's why I started to sugar free diet at least for 21 days to reset everything. For 21 days no white flour, rice,regular pasta and of course refined sugar and processed foods that contains glucose-fructose syrup and HFCS. I think 21 days are great to make it a habit again. I eat whole wheat bread, organic eggs, goat cheese, yoghurt( as a Turkish it's my biggest obsession 😂), fruit (2-3 servings a day) nut, legumes,vegetables, fish, meat and chicken. There is a lot delicious things to eat and if I want a cookie or cake I just bake with healthy ingredients. Sweetened with banana, date or molasses that my moms make. And really we do not need sugar. 💕 Be strong and start again you can do it!!!

This is so real and so many people struggle with sugar addiction without even knowing it. AND, it's not just overweight people. I've been thin my whole life and so thought it was okay to eat this way...UNTIL I started having issues - gut health, skin and eventually autoimmune condition like psoriasis. Once I started researching, I discovered the truth of what sugar does to your health, I couldn't ignore it anymore. No matter your weight or size you can get diabetes. It is not a weight problem it's a health problem that can affect anyone.

It really isn't a joke... Sugar is VERY addictive. I watched a documentary and it was a wake up call. Then I started checking labels of containers and labels... EVERYTHING had sugar. My favorite cereal that I added sugar to, had sugar already? The so called healthy granola bars, protein bars, protein powder, regular milk, some meat and cheese kinds, mayo, KETCHUP (I was wtf here) and it got me so surprised. I realized EVERYTHING I was eating had sugar. Suddenly I also realized that sugar triggers my cravings even more so after my cereal with milk and sugar (with both having TONS of sugar even without me adding it) I would want to have snacks so i would eat icecream out of the box and would never be satisfied with one serving size. I could it a whole box of Ben&Jerrys in one go... And the rest of my day would be accompanied by occasional sweet treats and meals that still contained TONS of sugar. My diet was pretty much just sugar. After the documentary I switched my cereal to whole grain oats with no added sugars, started checking thoroughly for milk with no sugar, ate fruits instead of ice cream, and pretty much said GOODBYE to ketchup, mayo, many dairy products, crisps and so on. I still have my sweet treats but more mindfully than before and I eat veggies for all my meals. But I still sometimes feel it on the days when I eat no sweets, sugar withdrawal.. It's really horrible and worse than coffee withdrawal.. I have no energy, I'm down the entire day... But when I don't consume it for longer, I'm thriving.

I am a food/sugar addict. It's important to note that many addicts cannot eat anything that tastes like a dessert, e.g, many diet plans have recipes for mock desserts. If I slice an apple, sprinkle it with raisins, oatmeal , cinnamon... It will trigger my addiction. It "tastes" like apple pie to me, so I react the same way by eating all four portions instead of one. That's why alcoholics don't go around drinking moch beer. So know your own body and triggers.

Sugar gives the illusion of comfort so people eat it thinking they are escaping stress but it’s sugar that causes it. This is the vicious circle of emotional eating, the illusion of the solution is actually the problem. In other words, the second you finish eating something sugary it’s a count down to the next sugar “fix”. Then you feel relieved (illusion) then it’s a count down......... Realize deeply there’s no comfort in sugar then quitting doesn’t require willpower which comes and goes. Education and understanding is the key to quitting. You see, it’s a illusion your quitting sugar. That’s not what’s happening. When you stop sugar you gain, you become whole, you become complete. There’s nothing to quit. There’s no void, when you stop eating sugar it’s 100% upside. Good luck! Love you all!

Withdrawals feel like the flu. I'm not giving up this time because I've made a bunch of changes like a journal for the process, and a rubber band to gently snap myself out of addictive thoughts. I don't snap it hard, just enough to wake up out of cravings. I just say to myself "snap out of it" because our brain takes time to readjust.

Nice talk, young lady. I have a great amount of respect for those that admit they have made a mistake, and do everything they can do to correct it. I am looking at the ingredients on a can of Cherry Coca Cola at my co-worker's desk: Sugar 42grams. That is the equivalent of more than 10 teaspoons of sugar, which is more than double the maximum amount that you should consume in one day.

Folks need to get back to eating whole foods made from scratch from quality primary ingredients. It is not that hard, such as making a salad with oil and vinegar dressing, or cooking a fillet, or boiling an egg. Those that rely on trying to eat "healthfully" with restaurant food, and packaged pre-made food will find it very frustrating to really get it right. Labeling is deceptive and lots of loopholes allow companies to deceive us.

I am totally an addict. I've been vegan for 4 years and I lost about 70 pounds just switching to a plant based diet. If I'm offered chocolate cake and I know it's not vegan I am not even tempted at all, it's not an option. Hand me vegan chocolate cake and I'm ALL over it. I wish I could look at all unhealthy food like I do animal products. I hope to continue to reprogram myself because I have about 50 more pounds to lose. I must do this.

im vegan myself ,but just because something is vegan doesnt mean its healthy. remember that skittles and oreos also are vegan. the best diet to stay healthy is a wholefoods plant based diet ,so basically a vegan diet based off vegetables ,fruits and legumes in their natural form (unprocessed)

im in the SAME exact situation. ive been vegan for over 2 years and im surprised it's so hard to say no to sugar when it was so easy to stop eating animal products. i guess its the moral aspect that has a deeper affect on our psyches. maybe research how sugar can be an unethical crop to get more reason behind it.

From now on i try not to eat out and try to reduce my consumption of sugar. That’s because If i reached that level of addiction, i couldn’t get out of the situation. But as far as healthy foods go, i don’t know why they are so expensive.

Bad day at work - sweeten it with sugar. Good day at work - sweeten with sugar. As much as I like a glass of beer or cider I prefer sugar as it does not leave me drunk and sleepy but gives me an energy boost instead. The side effect is all sorts, from acne to ibs. I can't quit eating it, pain and suffering are nothing in comparison with the thought of living without sugar.

Hope more people get serious about this obesity thing. I'm proud to be in the healthy 1/3 but I'm so in the minority with how I love to eat well and work out all the time, it makes no sense to me. Part of the issue is how much sugar is EVERYWHERE...corn syrup is put in everything...you would not believe. Just read labels, it is right there.
@newenglanddipper21476 жыл бұрын
Its great to hear your making the right choices, I feel the another big problem is that food companies hide sugar, there are 56 names for sugars, and its not always labeled "sugar" or "high fructose corn syrup". Sad but they knew what they were doing when they added sugar to everything. They knew it would be a silent killer for a long time, and even now that people know, even when they are 600 pounds and they are loosing everything around them, the food has so much control over them that they are eating themselves to death. Imagine that, very very sad
