WAN NUR FATHIAH_ SEU224 The facts provided are, in my opinion, highly accurate. This is because the more developed a country gets, the more unhealthy food is produced for society. As a result, the proportion of the obese population is increasing. As a result, the government must take a vital role in addressing this serious issue. This is due to the government's ability to restrict or adjust the supply of the economy and minimise snack advertising in a country. Therefore, because of the government's action, society will be less likely to face this obesity problem in the future, particularly among young people. Furthermore, in order to maintain future health, the community must restrict unhealthy eating. Reduce your intake of light, fizzy, sweet, and less nutritious foods like MAGGI, for example. So, our society's risk of obesity will be reduced.

CHAN JIA JUN_SEU224 The governments indeed are responsible to monitor and regulate the food consume by the citizens to reduce health issue like obesity among the people. Citizens should also work on raising the awareness of pursuing healthier food across all age group and its better to instill this value since a young age

MUHAMAD ARIS IKMAL_SEU224 it is a very interesting question. Based on what has been stated, my opinion is that whoever influences what people eat can be influenced by themselves, others or even the government. This is because, self -influence occurs according to the situation as at night they usually get bored and feel hungry which causes them to take food at inappropriate times. As for the influence by others can be seen when some sellers selling delicious food and have packaging which will make it easier for people to take it after purchase which in turn attracts the person to eat what they sell. For influence by the government can been seen when they running some programs that increase more nutritious food and reduce unhealthy foods such as increasing the amount of milk production and reducing the consumption of sweet water will influenced people to drink milk more that sweet water. Statement up there shows that what a person eats can be influenced by themselves or others who also depend on the situation.

Great speech and a lot of truths there. The food companies and governments do have a responsibility to regulate and make us aware of the food we consume. But I also truly believe that that ultimately it's an individual's choice what they decide to eat. Clever marketing exists in all forms from selling cars to eating food and it's up to you to be able to differentiate between good and bad and parents especially as to what they decide to feed their children which will help to influence their food choices. We all have free will and the choice to consume what we choose to and I also think having junk food can just be good for the soul. like if you're upset or down you have some chocolate or ice cream, it alters all the chemicals in the brain and releases all those feel good chemicals and if done occasionally is not going to have any long term adverse health effects. It's about corporate responsibility choice and balance, no ones forcing you at gunpoint to consume foods but they are trying desperately to get you to, no different to marketing or selling anything else really?

Although I agree with your point about us having free will whilst comparing the marketing tactics used in selling cars and food. I think your comment about the usage of stimulants like chocolate and ice cream is problematic. The chemical process in which you described happening in the brain, is exactly what can create dependency. If it's not chocolate, it's pizza, or chips, or a hamburger. Stimulation comes in many forms, and one may be led to think they have free will in these kinds of matter, but when we are addicted to these sugars, fats, starches, i.e processed junk, it's like crack and trying to ween off of it; especially if these foods are normalized and offered to you any and everywhere you go. (Friends, Parties, Meetings, etc.) To conclude, parasites are also real and an influencing factor. If we are creating an internal environment that is built from junk, it is what we'll crave indefinitely; we would be composed of it. Parents are just another example in this consumption cycle and if they don't understand the nature of addiction and foods, the cycle will continue on. I appreciate your comment.

Going against large F&B corporations is like going against capitalism itself. To maximize the return for capitalist large F&B corporations will pursue any possible means to ensure that they could sell more product with the lowest cost and receive the highest return. Consumer will vote with their wallet and stomach. If it’s cheap and tasty, Consumer will buy and consume it. Hence the vicious cycle. I’m afraid there is no silver bullet to the problem mentioned by the presenter.

Heres a quote about free software: "This community that we have, that we're building, that does so much, has to grow. We can't compete with Apple, we can't compete with Google, directly, in the field of resources. What we can eventually do is head count and heart count. We can compete on the ground of ideology because ours is better." -- Edward Snowden, NSA whisteblower, speaking at LibrePlanet 2016.

LIM SIN CHEN_SEU224 It is an interesting point about the marketing label tricky and I am really impressed about it. In my opinion, I think that the one who influences what we eat is ourselves. What we eat could be determined by our mood and emotion because when some of us are feeling stressed, we do claim that eating dessert could help us release the stress and also help us be in a good mood.
@cheknuruldiwanisbintinurul72492 жыл бұрын
CHEK NURUL DIWANIS_SEU224 In my opinion, people should concentrate on reducing daily stress because it has a variety of negative consequences for the body and mind. Stress may cause a brain response that alters eating habits, increases cravings for high-calorie foods, and eventually leads to obesity. But, governments are also crucial in assisting consumers in improving their diets and lifestyles. They can nudge consumers and food producers in the right direction with a thoughtful combination of education programmes, taxes, and incentives.
