I had a massive debilitating stroke in 2021. Even after 2 years of intensive physical rehabilitation, I was left with severe dedicits and was told that those disabilities are lifelong. I refuse to remain broken, so no mattr how difficult I continue to exercise on my own. My entire left side has no function but I could already eat properly and talk. It is very very difficult but I have faith that I will completely recover. Please pray for me. I do get discouraged. But stillfighting

Now I have all those functions and have been cleared to pilot a private plane, Drive a bus, Taxi, Truck. I ride my bike most days and go to the Gym daily followed by Aqua Aerobics and spa. AMAZING INFORMATION!!! The power of intention is both scientific and has power we are too often taught not to believe in. My goid friend was in a coma for several months then appeared near-noncommunicative. Turns out she had aphasia, apraxia, and loss of ability in one-side. She had very little access to medical physical therapy. Bit she had an amazingly strong will and with a little encouragement she regained most of her old functionality back and new functionality as well -- walking, talking very well, driving, forming tons of friends and a wonderful boyfriend, even becoming an Uber driver!!! Honestly she did it almost entirely ON HER OWN! Much of the healing was after 6 months and even after years!!!it is so very important to encourage people because there is so much power in their intention and they are either working for or against themselves. Sharing this with a very recent stroke survivor for his recovery. God bless you!!!❤

I had an AVM in 2015, affected my vision, 2018 at the age of 26 a stroke the same as the guy in the video but mine was in the right side of brain so my left hand was paralyzed. I can confess it's terrible, if you have hands that can move, feet that allows you to carry your weight and walk, you have MUCH to be grateful for. I was a top athlete, great dancer, great gamer on the PC, played instruments and yet it all was away because of a small clot. Its been a year since my stroke and I am still pushing for recovery, hand and foot function still very weak since fine motor skills is the hardest to get back. Its a nightmare. The Dr is right. You don't know whats its like. But I can confess that recovering comes with really hard work, its a challenge greater than anything else but keep going. Whatever your situation, you can pull through. Use your mind, study it, learn it, stop complaining, some us are going through much deeper waters. Own your mind, its yours! Stand up, I don't care about what reasons you might have. Stand up. For myself, I expect to make a full recovery and show the world that impossible is nothing. Believe in yourself. In 6 months, I will run again, type again, tie my shoelaces, button my shirt, see again... that is a heaven im grinding hard for everyday and it WILL become a REALITY!!!

My father just had a stroke. According to his Neuro he wouldn’t “wake up because of his age (74, diabetic on dialysis) and that I should start looking at how we wanted to proceed otherwise him! Now mind you, his surgery for the clot was third and she’s telling me this on Friday. On Friday, she comes back and tells me the same thing, now I’m furious because by that evening, my dad completely recognizes my voice and my sibling along with all his brothers and sisters. He squeezes our hand when we ask if he knows who we are. Opens his eyes on command and can touch the ball of his fingers slowly. He also moved his legs. He had to have a trachea put in and a feeding tube, which his body accepted. He is having a hard time weaning of the vent, but I think to myself it’s only been a week... it takes time. Yesterday evening, the PA comes in and suggests that we transfer him to hospice and place him on a morphine drip!! Is she f*cken kidding me!! She wants me to kill my father, that’s the fourth time this moron says that to me!! My daddy is a fighter, I know he can get through this with all our support! This video gives me hope and the strength to help him as much as I can. Thank you

Oh my gosh, Irecent need to learn how to do this. I have had two massive strokes and a seizure and I am praying that I can rewire my brain to teach my body to work again. After my seizure a few months ago they did a lumbar puncture and it caused me a small brain bleed on the left side of my brain. Now I have deficits from the damage on both sides of my body, post stroke weaknesses and stroke major bladder incontinence with severe urgency, prior to the seizure, it was bowl inconvenience and I didn't want to leave the house. The weaknesses now are on my entire left side especially my leg and can't hold anything in my left hand or it falls to the ground. My right shoulder has a previous rotator cuff tear that has not been repaired or therapy. After my seizure I was transported to a neuro rehab hospital and even though it was not the issue, I requested exercises to help. I am off balance always and fall sometimes. I wish I had insurance that would help me with daily therapy and rehab. I need to learn to walk again. I can't walk forward. If I bend down and try to reach something with a reacher tool, then down I go to the floor. Usually only a slow drop down, but I can't get myself back up. No strength in my legs or body. I have done intense physical therapy and speech therapy I was released from. I can't speak loud enough for anyone to hear me and people get very upset about it. They don't realize or understand how it makes me feel . Some people think that once you have a stroke you should be able to do everything that you did before. It is very hurtful. I do ny best to keep the dishes done and loased and then unloaded when it is done and put them away. After standing up for a while, my legs freeze up and I have to be very careful and get my front Wheeled walker to get back to the kitchen table or my recliner in the family room. Lifesucks, but I am praying and looking forward to getting physically and mentally better. My eyes are getting bad and I often have trouble seeing things around me. I will never give up working on getting better. I can't remember things from one minute to another or where I just sat something down. I can't dress myself worth a darn i can't tie my shoes and struggle getting my shoes on and off. I need to get stronger so I can lift things again and clean my house. Just had our bathtub remodeled for about 15 grand. Ni doors and i don't even attempt to shower if n o one is here, in cse I fall. We are completely in a toxic situation with all the medical bills. I have been in the hospital five times this year. My husband has stage IV esophageal cancer and we are financially at the end of the grond. Nothing to sell and we barely have enough money to pay our bills every month. We never fought before, but now the thought of going to the grocery store cauaes extreme problems. My husband has a fit every time. He has to drive us everywhere and bring everything in the house i can barely walk and can't carry much. It throws me even more off balance. I put as much of the stuff away as I can. Sadly, my husband has no do so much for us and he takes care of me and I take the best care of him that I can. This is definitely not how either one of us thought we would ever follow in our senior years. I wish we had a smaller house, but this one is very small. I can't get the walker through either bathroom because they are so narrow. I am praying for everyone

My husband just had a stroke after a failed tracheotomy. He is in a vegetative state right now, but he always told me, "where there's hope, there's life." A LOT of friends and family members are wanting me to take him off of life support so that they can just start the grieving process. I know that that is not what he would want. He has had several parts of his brain damaged, but I am holding out hope. Right now, I would be happy if he could just lip the name of one of our children.

@@marlenemaschke3763 That's great news, I was vegetative after my stroke for a few months. They told my family to consider letting me go. I woke up slowly & started rehab a few months later. I'm now walking normal & even jog a very short distance, 1/2 a block. I still have a ways to go to get my stamina back but for some it takes a month or several years. Just make sure he keeps moving and when he's not moving, he should imagine moving and doing normal things every night before going to sleep. And exercise to make sure the brain gets plenty of oxygen to heal. And use some kind of nutrition tracking app to maintain a healthy diet, I lost more than 88lbs. I use BiteSnap but there are other apps the do the same. My thoughts & Prayers are with you.

It's an awesome recovery story. I'm not a big fan of describing this as "fixing Rick." Rick was injured, sure. Part of Rick's brain was broken in places, sure. But too many people look at Stroke and TBI survivors as broken people. When something is broken, you either repair it so it's useful to you again, or you throw it out. That is a dangerous way to describe people.

Thru working with various physical therapists he has regained the used of his left hand and can now walk slowly without a cane, but still drags the left leg. My question is: Do the "Ips" side of the brain signals emit a sound, a tone? My brother is a musician and loves to make music which is hard for him still -- he is a drummer and can only keep the beat with his right hand at this time. Is it possible for the brain to react to a musical tone that would resonate as the same frequency as the "Ips" signals? Linda

Happy new year Dr! Thanks so much for what you shared. You gave me hope!! My husband was stroked Jan 9, 2019. Till now he can't move his body. His head n neck are normal. His memory is good. He can talk. The only problem is his body, upper n lower limb which he cant move. His doctor said it's ischemic stroke/ pontine. Will this kind of stroke recover?
