Tim is a kindred spirit who believes ART, SCIENCE, DESIGN and CODING should be integrated and taught alongside each other. This is a talk you want to watch and put into practice!

I have been learning to program for about a year now and was always confused by how I would not experience the same sense of joy learning to code as I would when learning natural foreign languages. However, I have recently begun to learn Python on my own and can now see the creativity and beauty hidden in code. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world, Mr. Mask. For it is indeed, an idea worth spreading.

MelMuses thanks so much for the kind (and beautiful ; ) words. Keep #CreativeCoding.

+MelMuses Very true. Although I have found that same joy in the more "rigid" coding languages ( I'm thinking of C and VHDL, not very pretty) when my grasp of the language is enough to create something that works. It could be as simple as a mini game that computes your responses correctly. My only regret is that the more artistic computer graphics is not taught in my field of study (it's on my hobby list for later).

Really good one every one is just teaching coding sentences not what that actually means we are remembering words without knowing it's meaning

This is why FizzBuzz exists. In college, they try to teach everything under the sun. So much so that students never actually get around to real programming. OOP at my college was a professor reading a powerpoint. If you are a software engineer you understand how crazy it is, and well if you are like Tim you just will never god damn understand it. Just keep putting more and more on until we know lots of things but not enough of anything for it to be useful. Students in my classes complain about how for loops are hard and they are about to graduate. They will never have a chance. Never. And you want them not to take more courses on actual programming but to learn creativity and art. You don't learn creativity in a creative writing class and you won't need graphic designers without programmers. And it's partially the fault of people like Tim who have probably never programmed in their life suggesting that they learn certain things along with the boat load of other courses these students will never use. In ten years, if college had their way 100% student's managers would ask for a program and the student will look up at them and be like "I drew you this picture I learned in art class," and say things like "in college I learned creativity and now I'm valuable." Most of design anyways comes down to thinking and common sense, if you refuse to do those things you are doomed anyway.

Sorry, but you're not a Coder, so you don't really know what you are talking about. Real programming is different. I develop Software for more than 15 years, so I know it well, you cannot learn it like a language. Without a real tech brain and having all the capabilities to think logically and develop something great, then you should focus on something else instead of being a programmer. Programming and coding is science + practice + being highly intelligent + creativity. Who agrees?

Ive been learning abit recently. Very difficult. Doesn't come natural like learning Spanish and Italian.
