Oliver's talk reminds me of that ancient phrase "Memento Mori". Remember that you will die - a great way to think about your daily choices in life.

This is amazing. Oliver is a genuine master of his craft! This stuff needs to be viewed more widely. But then, truth has never been popular. And popularity is never the touchstone either for establishing the truth of something. In his academy, Plato will sometimes see only one student, Aristotle who had come to attend his lecture. Plato will say, "In having you here, Aristotle, we have half of the Athens present!"

Currently reading his book; Four Thousand Hours. Thus my reason for searching for him on KZbin. I think his book is liberating as time has been a big struggle for me lately.

I’m obsessed with time. Always have. More so getting older with more going on, being busier in life. Certain personalities are more obsessed with time.

I'm captivated by the intellectual caliber of this material. A book with parallel content significantly influenced my opinions. "Dominating Your Clock: Strategies for Professional and Personal Success" by Anthony Rivers

One of the best Ted Talks I have seen. But why the really distracting constantly repeated "GameOver" visual plugging away next to Oliver?

It seems that a lot of things he talked about overlaps with a book called Essentialism. I highly recommend the book I found you want to learn more about what he talked about!

More than the irony of the speaker checking the clock for his presentation, as he explains how not to fight time?!

I feel several concepts he talks about are linked to living life in the context of Existential philosophical ideas. Facing the reality of impending death, life is a series of choices which we need to consider our freedom vs responsibility for, human existence is so fleeting and therefore both pointless and also paradoxically deeply meaningful, essentially we are alone in this world. When you internalise these ideas, you naturally live more authentically and your time is managed accordingly?! Highly simplified, but my take on it nevertheless xx

Great speech and a great book. BUT! British people avoid conflict at all costs and never want to say no to anybody?!? Has he ever met a British person? I can't think of a group of people on Earth who match that description less.

Absolutely a incorrect assessment of human life. He is part of the pretenders who think that they are a important.cog in the echo system of humanity. The Poor of the world who make up the majority think differently. A sad display of time mis spent.
