Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit, and never dies. And this is the message Jubin Nautiyal conveyed to the audience through his TEDx Talk.
His is the story of a boy from a small town who got to know his passion at an early age and then didn't let go of it. Despite being a black belt in martial arts, a champion in sports and having an MBA degree, the singer believed that the only time when he lived in present, not pondering over the past and not worrying about the future, was the one hour he spent with his guitar before bed and so he decided to build his life around it.
Unlike many struggling artists, Jubin got to meet one of the best music directors- AR Rahman at the beginning of his career and his advice to learn from his roots and people who have witnessed his journey changed Jubin's life for better. Before jumping into the industry, he took his time to explore music from around the country and then finally came the moment when the voice inside him said- 'It's time' and he started his professional career.
Along with being a huge success in Bollywood, the singer still holds onto his true music, the one that he writes to Express and not Impress as this is what changed him from being a young rebel in school to a soulful musician.
