this guy really is the real deal...he loves brutus.and gives him respect. so many keep animals for what the animals can do for them. I was shocked to watch a documentary where casey said when the bear population gets too much the babies are euthanised..! Brutus was one cub he saved. he said , why not try and save them. wow

Recognizing animals as individuals really shows respect towards that living being. Even establishing eye contact and acknowledging them, as small as they may be, really shows a level of respect and love for their existence. I have made so many friends with wild animals by making peaceful movements, and even speaking kindly to them if our paths cross. They seem to love peaceful attention (Just be careful per species of course) and will be kind if you are kind. I really love these videos, because I see that same level of respect from so many creatures when you show them they are loved.

Casey, I loved your story about the gift you received from Brutus!!!! I fully agree with you that all animals being sentient beings do experience emotions and are capable of feeling a wide range of emotion! I think it is so important that those individuals who believe an animal should be euthanized just because a hiker was killed or mauled is ridiculous. Because we need to live in harmony with wildlife and honor these creatures. Society tries to impose artificial standards on animal behavior instead of appreciating what animals do for us! I live in a wooded area outside of Denver, Colorado and it is so inspirational to observe wildlife!! My neighbor has a pet deer named Lucy who adopted him, she likes to rest in his cabin and eat apples! Thank you so much - you are definitely a blessing to all of life!!!

Hes so right !! I have seen bison do that behavior several times actually, they will even chase off a pack of wolves so they can protect and i guess you could say pay respects to the dead one!! I was dumbfounded and saddened because i thought of what the white man has done to them!! Nearly driving them to extinction!! Humans make me so angry when I think of all the horrific things we have done and still do to animals ans the environment!! Most seem to think that they are the only ones who have real emotions or that ours are the only ones that matter!!
