Tired of corporate hierarchy? So is Kurtis. So tired in fact he sat down with his team to tackle what a company structure should look like in the 21st century, how it can empower the development of its people, and how it can make businesses stronger as he and his team re-write the rules of both leadership AND individual employee growth within his organization. He hope other companies can grab hold of this concept to usher in a new age of business and end the Tyranny of Hierarchy.

Kurtis McBride is the CEO of Miovision Technologies. He founded Miovision Technologies Incorporated in 2005 with two other Systems Design graduates from the University of Waterloo. Miovision develops video and web-based technologies to help traffic consultants and municipal governments reduce the cost of collecting, analyzing, and reporting accurate traffic data. Kurtis is passionate about fostering great working environments and about building strong company cultures. When not in the boardroom, you can find Kurtis on the pitching mound where he plays semi-competitive hardball.

I usually don’t comment much, but this was an absolutely outstanding leadership talk. He clearly has taken the time to learn and care.

Great presentation. Hopefully organizations with outdated values can adapt to this organizational style. Time will tell as I currently work for one.

Is there any literature or case studies on this type of organisational structure. I am working on a tool to architect enterprises from ground up (prople, technology, process) and would love more resources on this topic to motovate and inform my solution.
