Money is like water, it flows, it cleans, it purifies, it cleanses, it rushes, it heals, it hyrdates others. WHen it is held, it gets stagnants, it gets sick, it becomes poisionos and noxious, it doesn't get an opportunity to help others that don't have any water. YOU DON"T NEED TOOOOO MUCH WATERRRRRR> YOU NEED ENOUGH FOR WHAT YOU ARE DOING. If you let go of getting more of what you already need, it EXPANDS. What you appreciate, appreciates.

Dear Lynne. I am cleaning out my “stuff” today. Letting go so others can enjoy what I’ve kept in boxes. And this Ted Talk came up. I wondered if this was The Hunger Project Lynne Twist.. (It sure looked like the beautiful Hunger Project Lynne Twist!). I soon learned that it is! You see, I worked at The Hunger Project for 6 months-could it possibly be almost 40 years ago! You sat down with me because I was struggling. I still have the handwritten piece of yellow paper you wrote up during our meeting-it was my “Well-being Project”. I’ve often mentally referred to that meeting as I’ve journeyed through my life to check back in when I’m feeling overwhelmed. So nice to be able to tell you that now. You were such a beautiful being then. And you still are. I am honored to have crossed paths with you so many years ago. And as usual, your talk is perfectly timed for me as I confront “retirement” and financial constraints. This is the perfect reminder. Thank you SO much!!

The $600.00 was worth more than $50,000.00! I know how it feels. Sometimes I experience similar thoughts when I get gifts from different people. It's true that a $1.00 gift from a sincere and humble person, who gave it to me out of heart's desire, always feels more precious than a $1000.00 gift from a rich person, who could care less for me and gave me the gift out of duty. Sweet story, beautiful woman!

Money itself has no value. It is the energy and intention WE assign to money that gives it life. Better to activate our money with energy that affirms life instead of depreciating it. Thank you Lynne Twist for beautiful examples of this through your sharing from the heart.

money DOES have value. the very definition of money is something that is portable, divisible, and a store of value. PAPER FIAT CURRENCIES like the Dollar or Euro are not a store of value

I randomly stumbled upon this today. By a large margin, this is at the top of my list as one of the most wholesomely beautiful and inspiring videos I have ever seen. I really needed to hear this. I appreciate the speaker Lynne for dedicating so much to helping others, for this great presentation, and inspiring me. And Gertrude for sharing her wisdom that night at that church to Lynne, a carrier of hope.

We call this baraka . If you donate if you help you will have more …. the more you give the more you will receive. In Arabic (or Muslim) countries we name this baraka, I’ve experienced it and it’s also about having a mindset open to give and to receive . The women you met said it all “money flows like water it’s a currency “ We have to be grateful for all the things we have if we appreciate them we will have this enoughness sense. Greetings from France 😊

Money is just like water. It flows through every life. It doesn’t belong to any of us. It belongs to all of us or none of us. Some of us have a rushing river, and some of us have just a little trickle. Money is a carrier, and that’s why it’s a currency. It’s our job to pass it on to do the most good for the most people.

When it flows, it purifies, it makes things green. When it’s stagnant, it’s poisonous and makes us sick. If you let go of trying to get more of what you don’t need

I am moved by your talk Lynn and yes money is like current of water, but in reality it is not. When money originates as privatized debt then people and planet are commodified, inequality grows, freedom disappears and inequality/hunger grows...so it is time to rethink and reinvent 'Money' itself to restore planet and humanity.
@mr.padilla56337 жыл бұрын
Susmita Barua yes. when debt controls all areas of people. inequality reigns supreme. The speaker is willing to give a talk about the possibility of improvement but poverty leaves many people in society vulnerable to a lot of horrors.
@allisonking42746 жыл бұрын
That is the stagnation of money she is describing. The lack of flow fits with her analogy. Privatized debt is the creation of a store of money, like creating a water reservoir of future human production and future resources. Then tax people to access this reservoir by asking them to return more water than they take. This reservoir then sits and stagnates as more water (people and planetary resources) are added to it. While the reservoir owner can take freely from this growing pool, it is poisoned by the guilt and yuckiness she describes.
@allisonking42746 жыл бұрын
Money is always somehow tied back to a resource exchange - planetary or human
@laurelsorensen57594 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the words and thought of your talk.....I appreciate the heart and belief that money flows. But at 60 years old....and after a lifetime of "doing the right things...." caring/giving/sharing/working/working/working....and yes...I was proud of the work I have done over the years....EVERY year...we have been maneuvered out of more and more of what we tried to build. We lost our home in 2007, had wages (both my husband an I), that were essentially stagnant for nearly 30 years...watched the rich change laws and the "rules of the game of life" until it was impossible to send out children to a normal college, and the local community college has left them in debt and unable to finish.....with no job on the other side, so no incentive to finish. I'm sorry...but I can't agree with your talk. Inspiring? absolutely...but the unfairness of America at this point has left people with the choice of a house....or food....or a family.....or medical security....but very few are able to afford the dreams we had as teenagers....and even fewer are able to achieve even 10% of their dreams. You are just wrong....and it is not the pursuit of more and more....after a lifetime of working, I am driving a 1990(something) Buick...living in a 1,000 sq foot house....with an autistic son who was bullied throughout high school, and graduated with a 1.75 GPA but a brilliant mind that can not learn traditionally. Your "privileged background" is flashing neon green.
