@baberraza42313 жыл бұрын
@@eaburl It is indeed a heroic dose. You have to work up to this level. Your entire identity dies in this, and linear time doesn't exist in this realm. When the old 'you' die, it screams in frightened agony.. if you survive the panic, a new 'you' is born, pure and untethered from all the distractions of this world. The serene and blissful afterglow will last for days, and you're changed forever. I have done it once, and I have no need to do it again.

@@baberraza4231 It's cool that it worked so well for you but I just want to add that not everyone will have an intense experience like that with 5.5 grams. My friend once had a little more than 7 dried grams of very potent shrooms and while it was pretty strong, He did not experience ego death. So he prefers other tools to get there because He doesn't like the body load when increasing the dosage of mushrooms above 5g.

@@DV-zv4ox Not to burst anyone's bubble here but take it from someone who's got some experience with these things: what you feel is very, *very* dependent on where you are, how you feel and how you're feeling before you start the experience. And even then it can literally change 180'' by simply walking into another room for instance. You'll be aware of this unless you take 'heroic' (don't, unless supervised by a professional) dosages, but it's an insane thing to experience. Also, you'll probably find that besides being very susceptive to outside stimuli influencing your experience, your own thinking influences it instantly as well. Having said that, my psilocybin experiences are easily some of the most unique and memorable things I've ever experienced - even though I can't put half of it into words properly. This may sound weird, but if you're familiar with the 'mindfulness' idea of acknowledging what you feel/hear/see, not judging that and then letting it go it can help whenever things take a weird/creepy/anxious turn.

After the trip you know that everything you experienced there was caused by shrooms, you know you wre under the influence of another substance yet you KNOW that its much much more true than your experience while sober. Anyone who has tried it knows that there is much more to life than what we can understand. Even the most hardcore atheist will crumble at the face of the spiritual experience psilocybin provides.

My step children have given me a new life. When my wife found me I was on my way to mimic my father. And now I can tell others how we are not a product of those who repeated what they knew. I know time is a only constant. And love is unwavering.untainted. But our fear becomes the anxiety. And our anger becomes our depression. Our pleasures become our pain. Pedro. I'm going to offer some unasked-for advice. Setting intentions is very important. East Forrest's Music for Mushrooms album is a great guide on your journey. The mushroom medicine is about going inward. Set your intentions, imbed your intention into the melody of the album (it repeats throughout the album), journey in a dark space (you can use a blindfold), and stay present in yourself for the full 5 hour journey. Start the album as soon as you ingest your medicine and sit with it for your entire journey. Much love.
@thelilykatherine4 жыл бұрын
@@opedromagico It might also take 2 weeks to a month for the effects of the SNRIs to clear out of your system, and it has always been considered dangerous to mix psychs and SSRIs because of a feared risk of seratonin syndrome. The theory being that with SSRIs (and presumably also SNRIs) that the brain actually down-regulates its seratonin receptors because of the increased availability of seratonin. Then the psychedelics have fewer binding sites and have less of an effect. I am not knowledgeable enough to provide any direct advice other than to research possible interactions.

It's all happening at the same time. Our painful family disconnect from first, covid, and now Q-anon. A breathtaking book I picked up and started reading, called Kitchen Table Wisdom, about connection. And now the promise of healing through this miracle of psychedelics. I'm hurting, but opening up to the possibility of real healing at the same time. Feeling vulnerable but hopeful.

It’s changing my life as we speak. Depression for 10+ yrs. Lost and hopeless and felt unloved or love of any kind towards anyone else. I actually have feelings after micro dosing for a week. I’m excited to see if this continues to help the way it has helped me so far which has been way better than traditional medicine from a doctor.
@ashsteepingtea3 жыл бұрын
Shrooms and ego death were terrifying unprepared, but the relief in my depression and anxiety lasted nearly 5 years until a car accident knocked everything out of wack. I still needed assistance with therapy and antidepressants,but maybe things would have been different if I were able to take the psilocybin in a safe, clinical environment with guides on a regular basis. I have truly never experienced better relief and I have been in therapy for 12+ years having tried individual and group counselling on top of just under 15 different medications (some together and some on their own.) This underlying message of humanity being one and all is love was strongly present during my trip and stuck around for a couple of years personally. I took more than I should have under the advice of a careless plug and had a "bad" trip. Be safe if experimenting and start at 0.5g, friends!!! 💚

Thank you for the tip on Dr. Leo Buscaglia and his book, “Love.” I love that Dr. Buscaglia was so moved by a student's suicide that he started a noncredit class at USC he called Love 1A to contemplate human disconnectedness and the meaning of life. Although it is possible that we can go at any second. The reality is most of us will rise and shine tomorrow. It can be a disaster thinking all we have is now because now goes on for ever. Fundamentally what Mary is discussing here is "altered state therapy", which almost always involves the activation of endogenous DMT. This takes many forms: breath work, hypnotherapy (especially natal regression), tantra, psychedelic assisted therapy, kundalini (both practice and spontaneous), sensory deprivation, and sufi dance to name a few. I agree that it is most effective with the guidance of an experienced person. Traditionally this has been a shaman, yogi or yoga teacher master hypnotherapist, doula, or specific coach of some kind (typically not social workers). Now that mainstream establishment medicine has gotten involved there is a big push to discredit these traditional "authorities" and claim the "clinically scientific" high ground. Some medical professionals are more respectful in their approach, such as Dr. Zack Bush, and Dr. Bruce Lipton. This presentation seems to support the "Compass Pathways" position of "proprietary patents" and "clinical protocols and standards", as in "cha-ching" $$$

Everyone let's go just remember if you feel scared an you think you took to much just relax an let your trip flow no matter what just go with whatever your brain has brought to the surface for you to work on I've found that the second you truly just give in an let things just unravel just sit back an enjoy your ride an realize it's you! because only you know what truly scary to you an once you just face it without holding back you will move threw the portal to be purified......

If you think that she is trying to control the experience, I can assure you, you are wrong. I have had the privilege to have had sessions with Mary and she is absolutely unconditional in her acceptance of what you as the patient needs. The feeling of safety and assurance that I would be okay with her by my side was integral to me working through extremely deep, repressed memories that would have had me in a closet crying in fear. Instead, with her experience and steady voice -- she speaks much like this during session but with even more love and gentleness -- I was able to productively face what I was too afraid to face, and release it.

What’s troubling about this TED talk is the big leap between psychedelics and love. I can imagine a similar setting where individuals experience an loving environment mentioned in the talk where a supportive and kind ongoing relationship is the key change element. That kind of experience can and has been a key element in sustaining a healthy global view and personal view. These kind of relationships help the body release its own chemicals and provide feelings of wholeness. No external drugs needed. I also react to healing/therapeutic world view and it’s bias legitimizing psychedelics use. It is as if psychedelics are the new therapy for a host of ailments. Psychedelics have historically been used as a normal part of the human experience for spiritual and communal living. Illness or disease has not been a prerequisite for using psychedelics and they do not belong to the domain of one worldview. They especially belong to the world of wholeness and being human. The relationship established here between psychedelics and love is contrived and misleading. Greater love has never been dependent on drugs. Love has been and always will be the greatest thing and not need be enhanced by any external source. People living and loving in accepting caring and helping environments is how we sustain our health and our humanness, not what we ingest.
@jenniferseymour383 жыл бұрын
I observe that people who experience emotional pain have forgotten how it feels to have connection and love. The mushroom experience helps them remember. After decades of therapy and personal work, one visit to mushroom land released deeply held pain that had paralyzed me for over 50 years, and which I’d been too terrified to approach in therapy or elsewhere. So, I say this medicine has its place, and its own wisdom.
@bryanleemartin97473 жыл бұрын
@@jenniferseymour38 I’m very happy about your recovery and I believe psychedelics ought to be legalized for everyone to use, as it has been in many societies. They should as accessible as milk and not left to the discretion of the therapeutic worldview, which assumes that humanity needs healing. The first thought ought to be “humanity is beautiful creative and competent,” not “human need therapy or healing due to basic dysfunction and disease.” The Dysfunctional Diseased Human model is pervasive in disciplines based on a medical model. It perpetuates the learned “helpless human” syndrome. The loving worldview is empowering and reinforces the phenomenal creative and resourceful nature of humanity. Yes some need healing. But the world would be better served by loving empowerment. That picture is not of white coat culture brokers dispensing magic mushrooms.

The 1960's had much of this opening up going on with various psychedelics and the desire to live in intentional community - it was never studied seriously as it is being studied now - there was so much negativity about drugs and hippies from establishment concerns that the psychological helps and changes were nearly entirely dismissed - and there was a lot of drug abuse and bad elements that joined the counter-culture movement that marred the good things that were happening - I'm glad to hear this work is being done - I wonder though, if there are no strong community ties to return to after treatment, will the positive changes last?
