I guess I'm not the only person to notice that he doesn't say much about tDCS. I'm willing to bet neither he nor TED want to turn people on to it because of the potential liability involved. It's too bad for those who don't do the research because tDCS seems to be a safe, inexpensive enhancement, improving cognition and function at much higher levels than Frens was willing to admit.

tDCS researchers are also not happy with the proliferation of DIY communities, because it reflects poorly on the rigour of what they do and potential accidents could harm the reputation of their work. Some of the self-experimenters out there are none too bright (ironically).

Can't believe this was 2013. The tDCS devices available now are ample. Only a few people know about it / even have one

Saliva sounds so distracting! Maybe I need a tDCS device to help me focus ;)

I wish TEDx talks about vaccines and chemotherapy, too. That should be very interesting.

This talk had almost no content about tDCS. I don't get how this was a TED Talk

liability reasons. TED is a pretty rigid institution. And they are a for-profit organization.

Ted talks like these just disappoint me. It's very hard to find information about these devices. The most helpful thing I found was the radiolab podcast that discuses this topic.

WARNING: I burned a dime size hole through my scalp today with only 8 aa batteries and eeg pads. This is dangerous! In the past, I used sponges soaked in saltwater and only 3 aaa batteries - and was not burned. Be careful! I may have permanent scarring now - at best! Don't make the same mistake I made.

tDCS is absolutely insane. It's like throwing hand grenades at the bottom of a pit, throw the grenade in any direction and you might end up as toast. You have the possibility to destroy everything that is you, your memories, your personalty, your whole life. Russian roulette with electricity is what it is.

they should uses pulse direct current with resonance frequency in area of the brain instead then direct current I bet genius like tesla would use pulse vs D.C.

Isibor Omwanghe how would you find the resonance frequency specific to the brain area?
@ziba2660
@ziba2660 7 жыл бұрын
+Kyle A that electronic device that put on his head is Transcranial direct current stimulation ( tDCS) device or muscle stimulater device the only way can think find resonance build by hand with capacitor, wire , resistors , and ext. you also decided which wave form work best sine wave square wave or complex form likely called differential wave. The main organ you want to resonance is pineal gland that than balance to hemeisphere to work in harmonic way

Isibor Omwanghe yes I know. but how would you find the resonant frequency of the pineal gland or any other area in the brain or body? if we can figure out a reasonable easy way to do that, then whole new Vistas will open up...

I don't like his evolution assumption that we are already sorta perfect for things such as studying. I disagree, the ability to study and learn at such a rate is a very VERY recent biological process.
