Its a continuous problem with nearly all of the sign language talks. Its so ridiculous but no one ever fixes it

it makes me so upset, I can't follow the signing bc they just cut away as though the signing is somehow unimportant

Why do you guys always move the cameras around? We need to focus in the presenter and the hands. Great job including the Deaf community, but please don’t move the camera from them! Thank you! 🤟🏻🤟🏻

TEDx talks, I'm not the only person who thinks you need some training on filming in a more Deaf friendly way. I get that it makes for interesting camera angles but it ruins communication at times. And that is contrary to the whole point of TED isn't it? I'm from Australia and hearing and it still was discombobulating. Please, please, please look into this.

it seriously pisses me off that TED regularly cuts away from signers as though it's ok to just completely lose access to what she's signing. Moving to the powerpoint and no longer caring what the actual presenter is signing. And no, subtitles are not the same, English is a different language than ASL, it's a translation, not to mention that many Deaf people don't speak or read English fluently or sometimes at all! Imagine cutting the sound on a hearing speaker just because we moved to a background photograph. I've seen this happen every time with Deaf presenters. STOP DOING THAT. I'm so angry. Let Deaf presenters PRESENT.
