finally someone talks about ageism including all ages, not just elderly people.

Are you kidding me? Every time somebody brings up the elderly everyone shouts WHAT ABOUT YOUNG PEOPLE. and dismiss the whole problem - so nobody ever gets to talk about ageism for the elderly cos it’s not a “cool” topic

I am 26. I am terrified of aging. I pursued my PhD at a younger age ( started at 22 ). I will be finishing at 27. I decided to find a job in engineering afterwards to get some field experience before shifting to education. But now I feel like this was the worst plan ever. When I had just graduated, I had many job offers. Now, at 26, I get 0 answers from companies... I am not even 30 yet and I already can feel the ageism effect on my life :(. I am so young yet internet, society, entourage, companies make me feel like I should be digging my grave already and just die . How can the youth desire to grow if there is so much negativity about life after 30.. No wonder there are so many suicides among 20-year-old :/. Sometimes it seems that is the only thing we can do because the alternative seems much worse: becoming invisible and useless, part of the background... and all the science facts that say that we start degrading at 25 lose fluid intelligence at 19 and become slower and slower makes us feel like there is no meaning to keep going. If we didn't achieve greatness before 20 than we can't do much after ... anyway sorry for my all my rumblings. But ageism affects not only +40-60 , it affects anyone who did not freshly graduate or more generally anyone older than 25. So if we try and want to extend the lifespan of humans why not also provide them with opportunities and a friendly environment where they can use their potential no matter their age...

I understand. I am female and I have completed an Honours Degree in Engineering (Civil) when I was 51. I am now looking for a Graduate job. Good luck to me. LOL. :-)
