Tim Horner's interesting talk concludes with: to interrupt the kind of fear leads to anger and violence, try to simply stop and ask yourself "what am I scared of?" whenever you are feeling anger. Try it. I'm not convinced he's right, but his proposed solution sounds rather practical and healthy, and that has value for all those sane enough to apply it.

I’d say the last statement is correct in SOME cases. But here’s a scenario in which I feel it doesn’t apply: Let’s say we see someone abusing an animal or child (a helpless being). We are purely angry because of the senseless cruelty and because we have empathy. We are not afraid, we are horrified, angry and disgusted. I don’t think fear enters that equation in most cases.

Let's wake this up and get people to watch this. Dr. Horner's explanation of genocide is a prophetic tome for 2024. I watched this a dozen years ago and it has shaped my insights of the rise of Maga and fear of immigration while I wish others would have seen before they moved from fear to anger to hate.
