You're lucky it worked out. Congrats. I got married at 18 but it lasted only 10 yrs. He ended up cheating on me with somebody much younger and left me & our 3 kids for her. Our youngest was only 13 weeks old at the time. They got married but it lasted only 2 years.

"She's mature" - I agree, but maturity doesn't compensate for a lack of life experience. I was a "mature" 18yo too, but I was also absolutely clueless. At that age, we simply haven't lived long enough to be fully developed adults. I wish the bride all the very best - sometimes young marriages work great! But we don't need to pretend that age is meaningless.

Yeah my nan was married at 15. Not by choice, to an awful man. Just because it was normal doesn't make it right. I've been with my husband since I was 18 and if he'd asked me to marry him then I would have said yes but I'm so glad we waited until we were more mature, had experienced more life together and were in a comfortable place in life.
