I came here looking for this comment when I reached this same part. Honestly, I was confused when I read it, but once I reached it, it made so much more sense. I agree with it completely. It seems like Andrew knows that he has problems, and that he is looking for change. So when the girl was yelling at them and getting mad. He seemed frustrated that she wasn't doing the same.

Oh I was right! Andrew couldn’t face the homeless as they caused him to face his own selfishness as he’s been given so much but squandered it all. When he called them ungrateful, he was truly projecting onto them the shame of his own lack of gratitude. He finally broke down & admitted that his guilt was at the heart of his reaction. It wasn’t about the people; it was about himself & his recognition of his utter selfishness when born into such favorable & wealthy circumstances.

Probably the most reasonable parents in the show. Of course the parents had disagreements with the teens but they were very understanding and tolerant and weren’t pushy or quick to anger or jumping to conclusions like most parents in the series.

This episode is hands down one of the best I’ve seen ; the family is so patient, and gentle - They love those kids like their very own, and it’s genuinely so sweet to see. Both teens definitely tried so hard, and it’s so good to see that sort of change at the end of the day.

It’s interesting with the homeless shelter interaction, the teenage boy didn’t like them because he saw those people below him, he wants to be with people wealthy like him. The teenage girl liked it because those people are below her and that gives her confidence.

Sevda didn’t like it because she thought she was over them, it was obviously care and how she could relate to them (like they said in the episode). And Andrew disliked it rather because he was being challenged, how he was feeling guilt over how he has failed his opportunities when those people maybe didn’t have any. This is not about class (But class war so we all are equals would save those people, my opinion at least)

These parents were actually generally sweet, the only problem I had was when the mom was talking about the way she dressed for church saying that both boys and old men were gonna like look at her chest and like have weird thoughts about her and that it ‘isn’t there fault’, like it’s not her fault that those type of men are gross, especially older guys.

I've watched several episodes from this channel now. I don't think its very productive to send kids already addicted to nicotine into an environment where they have to cold turkey and expect to simultaneously adjust to new behaviors and patterns. Tuere's also the time difference and jet lag between England and Texas.
@a.evelyn5498
@a.evelyn5498 Жыл бұрын
I agree with that, but they agreed to the show. They likely knew that they couldn’t smoke, but I believe that nicotine is very hard to quit & such an expectation at its heart is unreasonable. It’s going to cause withdrawals, but they are survivable.
