This is honestly the first family on this show I’ve watched and didn’t like nor agree with. There’s a fine line between discipline, teaching your children respect and giving boundaries and just completely controlling every aspect of their lives not letting them grow up and make mistakes.

The thing that made me the most angry was the woman who told Jess to reply "it's your free lunch" to anyone who asked her what was being served. That is someone who volunteers just to feel good about themself and doesn't care one bit about the human being standing in front of them.

So maybe you can help me understand this. The conversation the mom had with Jess outside the church. Jess had been walking around smoking and when she asked her, she admitted she had been smoking and then gave up the rest of her cigarettes. Yet she got in trouble for "lying" how did she lie?
