I have gone down that pink slide with the crazy drop. One of the scariest things ever. I felt myself come off of the slide as I was falling down and immediately though it was over. I was still safely in the guards, but you dont think about that when you're falling like 50 feet.

Same exact thing happened to me. I barely weighed enough to ride that slide at the time and they let me go down. I was airborne for what felt like forever and though i was about to die and then I barely landed back on the slide.

I remember when it was Family Land, and those two were called "Demon's Drop" (the one he fell onto), and the one he tried riding the sled down was called "Dragons Tail".. While the Demons Drop looks worse from its 'straight down' construction, the Dragons tail was always much faster. Even on water when you hit those humps, your body would elevate off the slide a bit. Can't imagine thinking you could maneuver down with it covered in snow.. jesus

I just checked the Wiki page for the water park and just found out that those two slides, the Demons Drop and Dragons Tail, along with Anaconda and Diamondback, were removed :( they were my favorites I hope Demons Drop and Dragons Tail weren’t removed because of this incident, it really wasn’t the parks fault. But Anaconda and Diamondback were removed for the new spinning slide which, I’ll admit, looks awesome, but I’ll still miss the two slides.

This kid knocked on my friends hotel door at 2am last week at the hotel attached to this place. Not to downplay the obvious danger and unreliability shown in the incident, but it happened because the cables on that style of slingshot are like rubber bands, so the whole time it's in the station it's pulled down, whereas during the ride the bounce like normal. Slingshot rides have on rare occasion disconnected mid-ride, but that's normally due to the cable disconnecting, not breaking like in that incident.

No, the tall swing ride went next to the old slingshot ride, not in it's place. I visited Mt. Olympus the week of that accident, the Catapult was already torn down and barricades surrounded the pavement.

rckblzr12 ACTUALLY, since the Catapult ride was token down, the giant swings ride took its place... 40 feet away. I thought that since this ride, the catapult, the almighty Hermes, and Apollo swing were considered "extreme" rides, that they placed the swings as an extreme ride since the Catapult was token out. Yet, I went to Mount Olympus last week and went on the swings ride... I found out that it is not an extreme ride and that you don't have to pay an extreme ride fee to go on it. You do have to pay an extreme ride fee to go on A pollos swing and the almighty hermes.
