Mick Fleetwood's drumming always seems to go under the radar when people talk about the genius of the band's music. He's a phenomenal drummer, and they would never have been the brilliant band they were without him.

Yes, spread the word to the younger generations about the great music of this era. This is another great song off this album. It's not surprising that you knew this one, it was very popular song. National Car Rental used this in commercials as part of an advertising campaign based on the title.

So many amazing tracks on the 'Rumours' album of 1977 and the great thing about it is, they're all still so relevant today. One of the greatest rock albums of all time for me. RIP Christine McVie. God bless.

There is generally a trend with what are regarded as ‘Classic Albums’, and that is that there is almost never a ‘bad’ song on those albums. They are nearly all memorable songs played decades later and enjoyed today just as much as they were back in the day when they were first released.

Who 'woulda thunk it' back then! It was just what we bought and listened to, or tuned into on the radio. Never in a million years could we have imagined 46 years on that young people, of the age we were then, would be captivated by the sounds we took for granted. It's not unusual that you would have heard a lot of Fleetwood Mac music before, and particularly from this album. So much of their music has become part of the American culture... in Movies, TV, commercials, marching bands (Tusk), political campaigns, tic-toc, you name it. They define the word "classic".

100% solid banger! Just listen to the bass in the chorus almost doing its own melody. A perfect confluence of the 12 string in the background, the drums, Lindsey's licks during the verses, the words that deliver a "get the **** out of my life" message, and of course the guitar in the outro.

The bass is just ❤❤❤ I'm a beginner bass player (at age 45 😂), I'm 2 months into learning and the first time I cracked this bass line I couldn't stop grinning! I still mess it up, obviously, but it's one of my favourite songs to play, along with the rest of this album. John McVie is my go-to when I want to learn something new.

Yeah, it's a fantastic sing-along song. I love how the drumming is so staggered and uneven during the verses and it gives us this off-kilter rolling feeling, and then when it hits the chorus, it just starts doing a straight driving beat and then it kicks so hard. And there's something so joyous about singing along with the chorus at the top of your lungs once you know it well. The guitars in this are great and one of my favorite parts near the end is the guitar that was more on the right side of the mix, drops down into these low crunches and just starts crunching away and it's in contrast with the one on the left that keeps rocking out and goes up high and it's just so much fun. I'm glad you are sharing this music with your friends. And in a way, that's what I did for so many years when I was playing in a rockabilly and honky tonk band. I got to know the older music well before my generation inside and out and I knew the really cool ones that weren't mainstream and even the mainstream ones weren't very well-known if at all to a lot of people I knew. And so we would learn these and play these songs live in front of audiences and slowly people would start to look up the songs on their own to find out more. And they would tell me stories afterwards. One time we played this old trucking song from the 1960s (I absolutely love trucking music in every way) and it was at this club in Kansas City and when we were taking a break, this old man's daughter came up and called me back to his table in the rear as I was working my way through the dance floor audience, and he looked at me with a tear in his eye, and he said "I never thought I would ever ever ever hear this live again. The last time I ever heard it was when I was still driving my truck." Wow. It's the stuff like that that makes it all worth it.

GYOW has been used in countless commercials and TV shows. The most significant films it was in are Forrest Gump (1994) and Casino (1995). It was also in the game Guitar Hero World Tour. It's the only Fleetwood Mac song in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's - 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. I think it's their best song though there's a lot of competition.

I was working security in the pit in front of the stage at Chrisler Arena (now Center) for the Tusk tour. What an incredibly tight group. Christine McVie was talking to us between some of the songs. This entire album has permeated our society between radio, movies and commercials. Yes, it is a phat album.

So Stevie Nicks wrote Dreams about breaking up with Lindsey Buckingham during the making of this album and Lindsey wrote Go Your Own Way about breaking up with Stevie! So much drama and heartache went in to making this album and these songs and that rock and roll soap opera is what resonated with people. Also, the amazing music!

This is all centred around the on/off relationship with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks which was explosive and resulted in some of their songs being written.

This the second best song on the album IMO. It might have a positive vibe, but he was spitting poison at his former lover - Stevie Nicks. For example, "Packing up, shacking up is all you wanna do!" So, the chorus, "You can go your own way" = 'You can f*** off!!!" 🤬 You can sense the aggressive solo.

This song was released as a single ahead of the album release and is credited for much of the albums success when it was released. Apparently Stevie was very hurt and angry about the “packin up and shackin up” line and fought with Lindsey to change it and he refused. I guess in the end Stevie won the battle of the breakup songs since her Dreams was the only #1 single the band had. I'm 48. One of my earliest memories: 1977 or 1978. I'm a child and lying in the back seat of the car with my aunt (or mom) driving down to Wildwood, NJ for the summer. This is playing on the radio. My mother and her siblings (now in their seventies) were still in their twenties. These were amazing times! Good times.

It’s the all of the suspended chords. Sings sus4 against sus2 to Fmaj on the 12 string! Hooks you right at the opening. Creates so much dissonance and resolves it. It’s brilliant.

Mick Fleetwood's' greatest contribution was as the music arranger. Lindsey, Stevie & Christine virtually wrote all the tunes, but Mick moved many of them from folk songs into head-bangers! Over time Lindsey adapted a similar style. He was the glue that held them all together as one of the best bands in history.

If you ever want to check out some Stevie Nicks solo stuff, her first solo album Bella Donna is really good. My favorites on that are Think About It and After The Glitter Fades. Also, before they joined Fleetwood Mac, Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks did an album called Buckingham-Nicks. There is a song on there called Frozen Love that is definitely worth checking out.

For me, one of the best guitar solos around, sadly only too short. In lots of your reactions you say the songs are too short and I agree. Back then, a band recorded an album of songs but often the record company decided which tracks would be released as "singles" which meant radio play. Radio stations tended to prefer singles of around 3 minutes. Queen had a huge struggle to get Bohemian Rhapsody,at over 7 minutes, released. Thankfully a BBC disc jockey (as they were called then) kept playing it, and the rest is .....

Yes this is one of the best albums in history. Most of the songs are break up songs. This one is Lindsey Buckingham telling Stevie Nics to go her own way.
