I always find it heartbreaking that the reason why Deathstroke and the Titans are eternal enemies for many years is bc Slade refused to do a contract from HIVE bc they didn’t have enough money to satisfy him, which led them go to his oldest son, Grant Wilson, the first Ravager. And once after the battle between the teen titans and the Ravager, Grant died bc the serum HIVE gave him was unstable, and out of grief and anger, Slade blamed the teen titans for his oldest son death.

I think the first aqua man (Arthur Curry) gave up the mantle to aqua lad to make being the king of Atlantis his full-time role. Aqua lad, who has been black as far back as I can remember, became aquaman. It wasn't a retcon.
