well said!! i completely agree. 30 something years ago watching it who didnt want to be michael j fox in that moment hitting the game winning free throw. the crowd erupting as soon as the ball goes through hoop and hits floor and music. perfect feel good moment gives chills every time even today.

Yes!!! Exactly! My son kicked the winning goal in a major high school soccer championship game, and I was glad to be there :). He had a very long road to get to where we was on that soccer team and to cap his last high school game off like that like that, it really did remind me of this movie scene :).

I agree... but it's the entire scene & song for me :) So much of this film works.... MJFox is perfect. boof/ Susan Ursitti etc etc. etc etc I never watch the sequel ... but I can watch the original over and over.

The she delivers it it's like you can actually hear her building confidence in herself because of how much she admire the person she is with. ....or maybe I'm just to overly 80s cheesy lol. but I hear/feel that.

This is one of my 4 go to movie scene that make me pause and reflect. The facial expressions of the two actresses are superb. One tense and nervous the other smug and assured then boom she gets the wind knocked out of her. Difference between love and lust.

If only we could see more endings like these today. They make you feel happy, tears of joy, and just uplifted. It reminds of the joyful ending from the movie Major League (1989), where they won the baseball ⚾️ game at the end and everyone was just celebrating.

The movie wasn't anything to write home about. The cinematography not much either. But, you take those final moments next to the bleachers inside everyone's high school gym and score it with that song and end it with the shuttered movement...then you allow all of us that experienced those moments to transport back to those more innocent times of growing up... simple yet magical.

Mick’s disgusted look @ :40 is priceless, as he grudgingly admits defeat for his team. Also @ 1:38, “Come on, Pamela, let’s pull out of here! and she finally puts him in his place: “DROP DEAD!” and with that stalks off, as Scott finally fully realizes that Lisa “Boof” is better for him.

Amazing. Beginning of the movie same free throw spot, except nobody behind him cheering. When he air balls it and goes to his house and vents to his dad he thinks he should leave the team. Ending of the movie is so cool to see him in that same spot but with this kinda love!

1:21 It amazes to think Pamela believes that Scott will want her now, after she used him for sex, and ditched him for Mick, used everything to make Mick jealousy, and called him at the dance "Just some kind of animal". Boof was somebody who liked Scott for himself, and didn't care if he was popular, I'm glad Scott finally realized it.

I commend this movie for taking the high road. It could have easily turned the ending into Scott turning into the wolf again, or dad wolf going around and mauling people. Instead it didn’t show us the wolf again and wanted us to know Scott had learned his lesson.

I’m here because a most paused movies list named this scene as one of the most because a background extra is seen without pants at one point, the closest I can find is around 1:49 there’s a background extra wearing jeans which appear to be unbuttoned & unzipped, but they appear to be correcting the problem & are holding their silver colored jacket in front of it for part of the time…
