Sounds good when you have prepared tracks at exactly the same BPM. I have one of these. Got it partly to use as a mini turntable. As things stand it is not suitable for mixing. I hope TE make a proper DJ Mode with a future update. The plus minus buttons could be assigned as adjustable nudge controls (of course these are currently used for track navigation, but some other button could be used instead in DJ Mode). Play speed/pitch range is currently -50/+200, basically ultra pitch. Many DJs need the option of smaller increments to fine tune long blends like +/-3, +/-6 or +/-12 for example. The platter is too powerful to subtly slow down or nudge a track forward. An option to adjust the torque could work but the nudge buttons would cover this anyway, so there would be no need to nudge the pitch by touching the platter. A looping function would also be ideal, where you could change loop lengths to 1 bar, 2 bars, 4, 8 and so on. Some of these essential DJ functions and this device could actually work as a proper turntable. Finally, if TE sort all of the above out with a firmware update what I would love to see is the possibility to mix two tracks with the same turntable (dual layer mixing). The Denon Prime SC series of turntables can do this, so it's not a new concept. The TP-7 has 3 line out sockets at the back so this should be possible.

Taken on their own, TP 7 and TX 6 are great devices. Prices may polarize, which I won't further assess. However, this demonstration here is rather ridiculous... If you're looking for the most expensive setup that makes limited sense for DJing and can fit in your daypack, then this is the right choice - everyone else will probably opt for different technology. The absurdity starts with the fact that sensible title management or reasonable access is missing - not to mention other things... If money is not an issue, you can use TP 7 and TX 6 in combination as a highly mobile and excellently designed and build option for recording your jam session ...

Besides being wrong about the knobs, part of being a DJ is being a performer. There's nothing wrong with doing decorative performative actions as long as they're done in good taste.
