what a great object to separate people from their money

It's really cool but nothing can justify the price in any way. It is teenage engineering after all, the same ppl who's selling a glorified coffee table for $1,599 😭😭

Social engineering teenagers to break out dad's credit card.

Agreed. It doesn't necessarily do anything that you couldn't do with a much cheaper or free program or device. However... I do appreciate their design, and how they think outside the box. It's fun in any case.

@@77rgoss If it was around $70 - $150 I'd definitely buy one without a doubt. It's one cool looking piece of equipment and the digital screen looks great

@@77rgoss Their only products similar to this that have actual reasonable pricing is their pocket operator series. All of them in the series runs for about $99

Holy shit that is expensive for what it does I was not expecting 2k usd
@Gurnu11 ай бұрын
that's all of TE's products... why pay a grand for OP-1's limitations? two grand for a recorder? pocket operators were fun for a while, but after everything they're just $100 gimmicks... but hey, whatever to get money from people with GAS who don't know better

@@Gurnu i know absolutely zero about it all but as someone who is a die hard fan of listening to synthesizer music, I could see myself playing with this on random tunes for days lol. I appreciate your comment by the way. Note taken

@@Gurnu I agree with you on one level. On another level, some would say that teenage engineering has set themselves up as a musical production company meets designer type company. And it's hard to deny that their hardware offers possibilities that have not really been offered on any other hardware platform. It's unique at least. Worth the price? I guess that is for each person to discover for themselves.

I have a free app on my phone that does that. Accept I can also hook up any mic to it, I’m guaranteed to have it on me, it has no mechanical components that will fail, it costs much less, it can do a few thousand other things, and any problems will quickly be repaired at the local shop or by mail within three days.

As long as all the ceo keeps his word and make manufacture parts accesible for 3rd party repair i honestly think its worth. Replacement parts for OP-1 doesn't seem that bad considering how expensive it is.
@billfrank47111 ай бұрын
I wouldn't personally have a use for it.
@user-pj1yf2kd2q4 ай бұрын
It's very cool and all but I don't see an actual use for it. It's essentially just a recorder that looks cool.
@hatsaok81536 ай бұрын
Im positive someone can make a free app for your phone that does the exact same thing and more.. if it hasnt already been made.. somebody get on that.
@77rgoss5 ай бұрын
t'would be cool. But can apps really EVER be as cool as hardware?

@@77rgoss i wanted it for that alone, the fact that you can scrub through the recording too. The wheel in the middle looks wobbly to me, does it feel sturdy?
@77rgoss7 ай бұрын
@@dingusbrule5756 It feels sturdy to me. But I don't abuse it. I saw another video where a user had an issue with it. But it's been fine for me.
