Highly suggest you backup all your patches and samples on your computer into the same structure you want on your OP-1. I have lost data a couple times to factory reset and had to reorganize everything again.

@@16mmdreamsequence88 it’s a lot of fun, the price tag is hefty and I did second guess it for awhile, but the portability of it really kept me sold on it. You could be making music in the park, on a road trip, while driving (not recommended) and the battery will outlast your creativity (I still haven’t had it die on me and only plugged it in to fully charge 10 times.You can always find more sound packs too to keep it fresh. Highly recommend if you actually intend on using it for what it can do

@@bassalope4321 thanks for the reply! theres no getting around the price, it's hella expensive. but I wanted to use it as something I can incorporate into my my music and even just mess around with on its own. I've been struggling with seeing music as a job and not a fun passion, so I think something like this would be great for me. thanks again!

Thanks, Jeremy! Few people can do these kinds of videos as well as you. I’ve owned the OP one for several years now. I get away from it and keep coming back. And most of the workflow sticks with me which shows that it’s pretty intuitive, once you’ve learned it. It’s a keeper as far as I’m concerned now. my only advice to others is don’t waste a lot of time trying to integrate it with other tools, other than to take samples and to transfer work files to a software DAW. Thanks.

Thank you Jeremy for these videos - I think about 2 years ago I got my OP-1 - I could say your videos convinced me to get one. :-) To be honest it has been an On-Off relationship for me and sometimes I thought about selling it - but somehow everytime I was in doubt you posted a new OP-1 related video which got me back on track! It's an awesome device but I get pretty fast overwhelmed with it's features - so even these videos are beginner videos, I learned a lot! I didnt even know the hidden game! I have one question - do you have any recommendations regarding in-ear headphones for the OP-1? I really would like to take my OP-1 with me more often, but in summertime over-ear headphones are sometimes unbearable.

Hey! Thanks so much for you helpful videos. For the love of god, can you tell me an easy way to map a knob on the OP-1 to a midi parameter in Ableton 10? Don't need to do the whole script and controller thing. Just looking to tweak some params with the knob.

I bought my first 11 years ago and bought it again NEW in 2022…you did an excellent job explaining this magical musical toy. It is unique, and in 2022 even if any ipad is able to a deliver synth sound, the form factor and the choice TE Engineering did with the interface ( band recorder, game boy effect presentation ) make it a real joy to play. Not a moog or a sequential but a very nice companion for an electronic musician. Don’t try to compare it to deluge, octatrack or MPC live…this is something completely different . it is a stand alone mini electronic instrument to have fun with. I have no doubt it will be there in 10 years !

For me....it takes me back doing 4 track tape loops ( ping pong = resample ) in 1988 in the analog form.Less is more... ( 12 sec. sample time = OP-1 )

Mu OP-1 charges just fine, but it just wont enter disk or control mode. I tried almos everything... new connector board, different cables, let the battery run out, plug before turning on, plugging after turning on, factory reset.... no success at all. Would you have any idea of what can I try to make it work?? Tks!

My op1 got stuck at the screen after attempting to connect and it won't turn off so I'm unable to do the factory reset? I just got it a couple days ago, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

So if you're exclusively using an OP-1 to make music, how do you export finished songs, and what file formats are available?

You can record to the tape and grab the 4 aiff tracks there or record to album and grab the stereo aiff from there.

Can you clarify the total number of space for me? I know its supposed to be 42 drum, 42 sample, and 100 synth patches, but I can only seem to get about 60 synth patches before they begin failing to load. I've checked every result on Google and people can't seem to decide if (42,42,100) includes the default patches or not What rule of thumb do you use for total patches of each category so that you don't drive yourself crazy trying to make things fit, while saving room for snapshot?

hey dont know if this will get to you but whenever i load patches into m,y op-1 it just loads them in a folder called synth inside the synth folder every time it does the reboot thing and doesn't show up on the op1, the drum patches work just fine its just with the synth ones, any suggestions on what to do?

What is the point of the push in encoders, are they for cc functions in midi controller use....is there any use within OP1, initially thought the push would act as primary shift function on each knobs function....

Pong Trometer they are hardly used but with one of the firmware updates pushing one of the encoders in radio mode will auto seek to the next station. (Pretty sure!)
