This conversion was titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game in order to avoid confusion with the previous NES game based on the franchise. This version includes two new levels (the first part of Scene 3 and all of Scene 6), which feature new enemy characters, including two new bosses created specifically for the NES port: Tora (a Polar Bear-like "blizzard beast") and Shogun (a robotic samurai). Most of the original stages from the arcade version were extended as well and the second half of Scene 3, the parking garage stage, replaces the arcade version's end battle with Bebop and Rocksteady with a battle against the mutated fly form of Baxter Stockman. The NES port appeared in Nintendo's PlayChoice-10 arcade system. This version of the game was once slated for release on the Wii Virtual Console, but was canceled. The NES version featured notable product placement advertising: Pizza Hut logos. The rear cover of the instruction manual provided a coupon for the restaurant, with an expiration date of December 31, 1991.

@@ohgin12345, it’s not really hard. I’ve played this game many times back in the day when I was a kid, and I became an expert at it. However, unless if you’re a rookie and you don’t quite know all the levels and the bosses of this game, I’d say this game is pretty simple.

I’ve been picking up a bunch of co-op nes games for thanksgiving, to play with my nephews, and other family. This one was recommended heavily to me, and I see why. For some reason I never got into TMNT games as a kid. Loved the cartoons though.

Anyone else mesmerized by the fact certain colored Foot Ninja carry certain weapons??? Me?? My favorites are the white clad sword wielders. Second would have to be the red clad machine gunners.

As far as I remember, when fighting Shredder you may have to watch out for the Anti-Mutagen Ray because if that hits you, you will be defeated instantly & also further more, that will turn you into a baby turtle.

52:14 at this point he almost had it it's almost like a glitch you ca n attack within a certain spot and you won't get hit it's best if you start at the bottom of the screen and keep jumping tacking while moving up very slightly in the middle it's all about timing the jump attack with krangs attack

You just press select and then start at the title screen, although I'm not so sure if that's what you were asking.

Only the arcade version is 4p. It would be cool if someone made a 4p hack of this version, though.

It definitely would make sense for it to be 4p, but 4p games are pretty rare on NES, and it can be difficult to get extra players onscreen without slowdown. If there ever was a 4p hack in the future, I would expect it to be necessary to use an overclock option in the emulator.
