I know these movies received a lot of backlash with valid reasons but you can't help but respect what the designers did on these sets. The amount of details and personality that was put in each little object, each graffiti, for each room is an awesome and believable idea ! I especially love the hand-made chairs adapted for the shells, the "Keep out" sign in Leo's area and their headcanon that as soon as he gets an idea, Donnie write it on the wall! These tiny almost invisible details may not feel necessary on paper but as it is, not only did they add character, they fleshed out the otherwise simple "big sewer lair" itself, making it feel like a real place where people (mutant or not) actually hang out and live.
