one of the truly great bands their dark side of the moon album was probably their biggest seller A blockbuster release of the album era, it also propelled record sales throughout the music industry during the 1970s. The Dark Side of the Moon is certified 14 times platinum in the United Kingdom, and topped the US Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart, where it has charted for 988 weeks.

One thing to notice about the performance: Gilmour (the guy who looks like he just got finished changing the oil in his car, talk about humble greatness) only sings twice, touches his guitar twice, but they are the most memorable parts of the song. When he does touch the guitar, he also touches your soul to it's core.

Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS

What an awesome story, Mark Tandle. I am both happy for you and envious that you had such an amazing experience. I am sad to say I never got to see PF live, although they are my favorite band of all time. I can only imagine that you will always treasure meeting the greatest guitar player of all time. And, I could not agree with you more-their music is what I call Modern Classical-it will be played and revered for all time, just as Beethoven and Mozart are.

This video seems futuristic even now. Pink Floyd was known for their laser light shows. I was fortunate enough to see the singer/guitarist David Gilmour in concert as a solo artist in 2016. He was 70 years old that year and still sounded amazing! As for future Pink Floyd reaction suggestions, I recommend 'Sorrow' also from the Pulse concert. Another great song was from the previous tour to this. The song is called 'On the Turning Away' from the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour, which was in 1988.

I was 46 when I was at this concert. I cried most of the way through it. The teenage girl standing next me collapse with emotion during this song and I had to help her friend pick her up and put her in her seat. I've been to many big rock concerts in my life time and played in quite a few myself, but I've never been as overwhelmed and emotional as I was at this gig. Surprised you didn't mention anything about the lights and effects. You did the right thing by not pausing mate. ✌️❤️🇬🇧

That whole Arena that was packed was packed 15 nights in a row for Pink Floyd! That's Earl's Court in London. And anywhere during this tour they would sell out entire football stadiums so fast they would end up having to do another show or even two more shows. Shows would sell out like this because people had remembered the shows they did in 88 and 89 for their momentary lapse of Reason tour! Check out the live version of "On the Turning Away" during that tour and you'll see part of the reason they would sell out stadiums more than once!!

Sorry I've been telling you to react to this and you already did. Your reaction was perfect. You were immersed in the music, mesmerized by it and that is exactly how any of us die-hard PF fans react to it. As I've said prog rock is instrumental heavy; the words are important and the music is important. And then PF in its tours did amazing visuals to engage the audience in an experience far beyond listening to music.

Dude, you did a perfect job of reacting to Pink Floyd. Great job! The whole Pulse concert is as close to being there as you can get. I saw them in 1994 and to tell you the truth I just can't describe the experience, as close to nirvana as a brain can get. Eargasm. Thanks.

I was overwhelmed to get 2 tickets for this show, I called about 2 weeks before and they had just opened a new section in the hall and I landed 2 great seats. The night was even more overwhelming though, absolutely brilliant show.

I believe the speaker\lights you see spinning on the stage are there to provide the effect of the song coming in waves over the audience much as the song mentions. Also adds to the lighting but I have seen this used in other concerts. Also would add, this is a visual as well as audio concert and you have to keep your eyes open to take in all that they are giving you in this and most of their concerts. Otherwise you may as well just listen to the record.

I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show Syracuse Carrier Dome in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all. When the “Disco Ball’ was uncovered and the lights hit it….. WHAT IS HAPPENING was what I said….The entire crowd was held in a trace and our minds totally blown by what we witnessed.

This is just a taste of what a Pink Floyd concert was like! The only way way you can come close to appreciating their concert is to get hold of a copy of this concert, Pink Floyd P.U.L.S.E. get the biggest damn TV you can find with the best Home Theater sound system you can find, turn off all of the lights, sit down in the middle and just let it happen! They were a band like no other, EVER! never recorded a 'Love Song', always had something to say. They were the cerebral band of Rock&Roll!

My husband saw Pink Floyd way back in the Syd Barrett days. He remembers being impressed by their light show - 5 spotlights at the back of the stage! This is such a classic - so pleased to see you react to this. When the Floyd headlined London Live 8 in 2005, my son (aged 14) was shocked into saying "... but, but, they're old men!" He soon realised just why they were the headliners.

This was very much improved from your DSOTM reaction. If you want to dive deeper into music reactions you've got to devote some time to lyrics, perhaps print them out before you do a video. (You can also quickly find lyric "interpretations" online, but steer clear of of those--most viewers have probably already read those and are more interested in YOUR interpretations. Just a thought.
