Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school here in North Carolina when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend and I at the time loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife loved concerts as well during that time. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I can not describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.

You just can't beat the 60', 70's and 80's Rock Bands, and the amazing amount of high quality music that was available. I saw Pink Floyd in '94' at the Oakland Coliseum. They had designated seating on the football field for about 300 lucky fans. On the folding chair was a 14"×14" Pink Floyd seat cushion. We were 4 or 5 rows back from the stage. GOOSEBUMPS FOR DAYS. I think it was $35.00 a ticket. My brother in law got us ours from his auto dealership. Shedmen rock.

I was at their Pulse concert tour in Vancouver. The one thing you miss watching this video is that you not only hear the fantastic music, you see the marvelous light show (when the ball was lit up and started spinning you felt like you were slowly floating through space; you didn't want to close your eyes), the thing you miss is that you felt the music in your body. When we all left the arena after the show the whole audience slowly walked out of there and no one said a word for about 10 minutes because we were blown away.

Yep, I was the first 2 times I saw them, did a little acid both times but only enough to feel great, a wariness at times for visuals effects but after experiencing the full effects previously, I knew enough on how to just have a good time. Lord, was it ever, both in 1975 & 1977, the 75 highlights were Dark Side of the Moon in it's entirety and an encore of Echoes, then in 77 I saw Animals and Wish You Were Here expanded and in their entirety, those sets were 50+ minutes each, Gilmour's guitar and Wright's keyboards were as great as any I have ever heard, both performances were mind blowing and you can hear both sets here at You Tube, Gilmour's leads in Animals made you gasp, that guy has the hands of God himself for probing your soul in audio nirvana. Check them out, Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

This is not only epic, some say the second solo of comfortably numb on the pulse tour was and still is the best guitar solo ever played on this planet! For more like this: High hopes, Keep Talking or Shine on you crazy diamond (all of the same concert). This will still be played on hundreds of years…!

Comfortably Numb is one of the most extraordinary pieces of music ever composed. I always felt that towards the end, it became the funeral march of a lost and tormented soul. All of the anguish and regret of something glimpsed and lost is distilled and channeled into one extended searing cry. This never gets old. Ever. It speaks to something that we all know and cannot be expressed in any other way. Music - real music is a language all its own. Extraordinary musicians like David Gilmour can communicate their inner experiences as few can today. Gilmour’s guitar appears to be connected directly to his soul. Some musicians can manage that for a few moments. For Gilmour, it’s his natural state of being. It is unmistakable and cannot be faked.

I was worked at the Post Office on graveyard shift in the early '90's. It was a large building with 7 floors. It was a Sunday morning around 3 AM and I was up on the top floor working by myself emptying mail bags onto a conveyor belt. I could just barely hear Comfortably Numb travelling through the ventilation pipes from somewhere else in the building. It was awesome and spooky at the same time.

Pink Floyd is on another level, they are an Experience! Gilmour too, he's up there with Clapton, Beck and Page in the "people that know" group, and the critics of Classic Rock. Only 3 people onstage here is actually Pink Floyd, the three old guys, David Gilmour, (guitar), Rick Wright, (keyboards), and Nick Mason, (drums), The rest of the musicians onstage are Pink Floyds tour band members during that time period.

A Pink Floyd concert would always cost three or four times what any other show charged but you got what you paid for and then some. When it was over you felt like you'd been on a hundred roller coasters. During The Wall concert at the beginning of the song 'In The Flesh' there is a sound effect of an old plane about to crash. Pink Floyd "flies" a World War II airplane on a wire across the stadium right over the crowds head, the airplane is on fire throwing Sparks and it crashes into the back wall in a huge white explosion. I know two people who saw this and didn't know it was coming and have never been the same since! Pink Floyd didn't just do this for shock value, it actually fit in with the story of The Wall which starts with one of the band members memories of being a child during Hitler's bombing of London.
