Nice fantasy story, but somehow with an unsatisfactory ending. Fantasy allows everything, so a real happy ending would have been possible. Or at least a kind of happy ending. this film could have ended well as an "introductory film" in a series. For example, the hero could have taken the girl with him to his time and you could have created a nice storyline, what kind of adventures the two lovebirds then experience together, possibly with further time travel adventures, etc.

1:20 This actually happened when I was a kid. There was no time travel or fear of heights, but my friend fell off a cliff hanging in to something, I think it was a little ledge. There was no time for me to get help and I only had one thing I could use to pull him up to safety. It was not made to do what I needed, but it was all I had. So I took off my prosthetic leg and lowered it to him. He held the foot and I held the strap. The strap actually broke, which I was afraid would happen, but it held long enough to save my friend. Damn good thing I had a prosthetic leg handy, also, it was the 1980's so I still had a fake leg with a strap. I retired my last leg with a strap in 1990 and I don't miss it. Also, damn lucky my name happens to be ERIC. EPIC is just ERIC with a missing leg, I bet you never expected to see a story where it's a good thing a kid had his leg cut off.

If you ever discover you have traveled back in time to before 1224 you need to be very careful. This is about 32 generations ago. As the number of grandparents you have (assuming none of your ancestors share ancestors) the number of 32 times great grandparents will be over 1 billion people. Earths population did not exceed 1 billion until 1804, so you would have more ancestors than people who were alive in 1224, meaning there is a very high probability that any person you meet could actually be an ancestor of you. If you kill them before they have kids you could wipe out your own existence. Not to mention wiping out the existence of a large number of historical figures. Of course if you meet someone in the past maybe they are suppose to have kids with that person, in which you would be one of your ancestors. Here a wild thought. In the move John Connor sends one of his men, Kyle Reece back to 1984 to protect his mother from a Terminator who has traveled back to kill Sarah before John was born. Kyle ends up getting Sara pregnant with the baby who would become John Connor. This means that John is actually about 23 years older than his dad Now imagine John hooks up with a girl when he's 22 or 23. John may never even know that this girl got pregnant, but she has the baby Kyle Reece. This would bean John's sone is also John's father. Kyle Reece is his own grandfather.

It's kind of a rip-off of the 1980s Twilight Zone episode I believe it was called her Pilgrim heart. But in that one they don't actually physically meet so whoever made this probably saw that and decided and what would have happened if the two of them had met and then they each have to go their own ways like in the The Twilight Zone episode her pilgrim heart... And that one a year later the girl in that story I think her name is Abigail but don't quote me tells him to meet her at the Rock where she has but she's carved into it their initials and a heart, like I said doesn't that sound familiar.
