I don't understand why our society doesn't have a social safety net to help this woman while she's out of work. Why don't they give her unemployment? Doesn't her county have a Social Services department that offers Temporary Assistance? How can we live in a country that can permit a 16-year-old child to quit school in order to pay the bills? To be perfectly honest... And with all due respect... I graduated 10 years ago... And the ONLY things I have EVER had to use in my life is... Reading... Basic Addition and Subtraction... And The Multiplication Table up to 12... Which is everything you learn by the 6th grade... Which Isaiah is MUCH older than... I'm not saying for him to NEVER go back and NOT to Get his diploma... Which he most definitely deserves... I'm saying there are FAR more important things in his life...

Not everybody enters university at age 18. There are many young people like him who have no choice but to leave the public school system in order to survive. They then go on to university degrees and good lives but at a slightly altered educational trajectory. It's reprehensible that you believe his future is limited by a temporary and necessary absence from public schools. He's motivated, and a hard working kid who clearly has priorities in the right order. Unless you don't eat pizza or food that others cook for you, don't crap all over his efforts. Hopefully you never find yourself in a position of having sacrifice yourself like he is. This kid is trying to fill adult responsibilities, and it appears he's doing a damn fine job of it.

This is one of the best Secret Santa's -- Isaiah is mature beyond his years, understands putting his family first and doing so with a right and loving heart. I hope he and his family have a Blessed Christmas and his mom is soon feeling better!

Sometimes it's really obvious when someone is a genuine person, and that was very obvious with Isaiah. ❤️ He is all absolute sweetheart - so polite, so thankful, so hard working. He made sure to thank every individual. It's always awesome to see people in a tough spot catch a break. I was expecting Nate to say that now Isaiah won't have to work full time in order to support his family, but he didn't. Hopefully that's the case. Loved this one. What a great kid. With the rent paid for 6 months and much of the groceries taken care of, this means any money earned from Isaiah working full time can mostly be saved, for when he *does* go back to school when his mother is better and can get back to work again. You can tell that with Isaiah's attitude, work ethic and overall upbeat and mature character he will go far in life. This gift from SS will also help mum to heal faster as she won't be so worried about her son, not feel so guilty (not that she ought to,) about the situation they find themselves in. Stress literally slows down healing. Well done EIN team. The pizza looked sooooo good and I love how sneaky you all were. Lol Merry Christmas to you Isaiah and his family. I remember a time in my life not so long ago my son had unexplained, unexpected cardiac issues and being put in ICU. I literally remember counting out nickels and pennies when he was discharged just to buy food because I had missed so much work. A complete stranger paid it forward to me and how it helped and was such a blessing. The smallest things matter and I find some way EVERY DAY to pay it forward. Be the change you wish to see.
