Aside from Nova's sweet and smart speech, which all the comments are already talking about, I would like to note how nice it is that her parents accept her feelings: they don't tell her that she shouldn't be sad, they don't try to suppress her feelings as many do because they are "just children" (terrible thing). Instead they sit down and ask her to express her feelings, and the child is able to communicate them very well. They did a great job. ❤ Unfortunately, not all parents pay attention to their children's feelings, especially if they are kids!

To be fair, Brandon and Theresa didn’t know that the show would be ongoing. They just thought it was a onetime documentary. I know Butch was mean to them. But now we see his point a lot better. The entire family is affected by Adoption.

Omg I can't believe it's been 16 years that I've felt sad for these 2 giving up Carly. The 2 that adopted her really took advantage of these two teens. It really still angers me on how carlys adopted parents totally shuned Kaitlyn and Tyler and really pretended to be people they really weren't.

The fact that they are STILL together.

I never fail to love watching these guys. Their journey has been so raw & honest. They didn’t have the family support they would have needed had they kept their 1st born. The fact they had the maturity to understand that and put Carly first has always impressed me. It was so hard to watch how much it devastated them. Looking back now, seeing them still together and having made such a beautiful family together is testament of their deep love & connection. How many people end up with their 15 year old boyfriend or girlfriend for life? Not many. I wish I had as my choices after school finished were not good. My childhood sweetheart was probably my only good choice 😬 I hope as the girls become teens they will be able to seek out a sister bond and have more contact. I think it would be good for all of them to see Carly & how well she is doing. We can’t change our path, we can only make better choices as we grow ❤

Talking to your kids about sex and how babies are actually made at a young age, helps them understand more, and actually grasp the concept when they are teens. They end up being more responsible. I started with very innocent conversation about how an egg turns into a baby. My daughter is ten and she knows how babies are made now.

I feel like the adoptive parents told her what she wanted to hear and that they would have this great relationship with Carly and as time went on they did it very limited instead of being grateful and gracious that they were given an opportunity to be parents you can tell that behind closed doors is different and that they probably regret giving up their baby girl especially of how things have turned out to be with the adoptive parents

I have always felt that way too. They were too agreeable especially the father and his fake smile. Their advocate did not fully stand up with them also.

@@freedom4063 They are a nice family. However they made promises to young people who did not fully understand what they were doing. Their advocate could have spoken up more for them. I just felt she was more on the adoptive parents side when she was supposed to help C&T. It is an open adoption and the rules for an open adoption are different from a close one.

Wrong. Brandon and Teresa didn't know the show was gonna get as popular as it did. They're doing the right thing by Carly, keeping her life protected from the public. Catelyn and Tyler just want ratings. Period

I still think Dawn set them up for a hard adoption journey. I feel bad for saying it, but she kinda manipulated them, bcuz they were so young.
@beckydustin47132 жыл бұрын
I don't know why you feel bad that's exactly what she did!!!!! on top of that open adoption isn't exactly ethical! I truly believe that open adoption is a way to trick young parents into thinking that they're doing the best thing for their children and also going to be allowed to be around in their lives. after these kids sign their child away they literally have absolutely no rights to the child.they had to hand her over in a parking lot at the hospital I think there might be some issues with morality and legality going on in Caitlin and Tyler's story specifically! I think Caitlin and Tyler would probably speak out a bit more about the situation publicly if they weren't afraid that they wouldn't be allowed to see Carly again
