The reason they had the beast be in season 5 not 6 is because their originally was no plan for their to be a season 6 so in their minds they thought they did wait until the last season to use the most powerful villain,but then Jeff Davis got asked to do a sixth season even though he said he didn’t really want to and he never had a plan on doing one,that’s why the beast was in season 5b not 6b.

He's fighting against creatures who have centuries or decades of experience over him he's only been a werewolf for over a year at this point so getting his ass kicked makes a lot of sense. Before you throw in Liam beating him or the Howlin the hell hound remember Liam never holds back because of his anger disorder. He only beat Scott because 1. Scott was poisoned by wolves Bane for days in his system. 2. Scott didn't want to fight Liam so he was holding back and still proved to be a challenge. 3. Liam was charged by the super moon which increased everything he had beyond its regular boundaries. Howlin held back after he realized Liam wasn't the Anuk'ate he was after that gave Liam his chance to survive the battle and pulled of the victory. Scott is like Huey from the boondocks they both cold as dudes but they lose a lot of their fights because they lack time experience against their foes.

I was/am a big fan of the show. There’s just inconsistency in the writing I can’t help but complain about. For one, the beast is a beta, a BETA. We all watched season 1 and it was stated a alpha was the strongest of their kind, more animal then human, blah blah blah. Then Peter specifically explains that the alpha spark is that little extra, that extra that CHANGES YOUR BODY, that extra that changes your eyes from a glowing yellow to a searing red. Hell even in the wall painting where it shows the beast fighting a hell hound you see the beast has red eyes. I guess what I’m saying is, why didn’t they make the beast a alpha? They seriously made it a beta or even omega and leave fans like me wondering what the hell were missing? I know a lot of you are going to say that Sebastian gave into his animal side and is evil but my god, look at what he changes into. They should’ve made the beast a alpha plain and simple, instead of taking a huge shit on everyone and our true alpha Scott.

Actually you don’t need to be an alpha to become a full grown werewolf as Peter said in season 3 his sister talia had the ability to change into an actual wolf n this made people think she was some sort of guide or inspiration so she became an alpha because the gift she had was rare Peter only became a full grown wolf because he used his animal instincts more than his human one

One thing to note is that La Bete is an anomaly no beta should look like that. It was said in the Argent flashback that once he was bitten he looked like this and killied hundreds of people so it makes sense that he is stronger than any werewolf alpha or not. I think the beast was well written. The inconsistencies lie with Scott who was hyped to have a power that happens once in a hundred years and who was scouted to join an all star alpha pack but has not won a single duel(1v1). He got whopped by his own beta and was saved by the twins from another beta 😂😂😂. Also I don’t know what the difference between an alpha and a true alpha is. It’s literally the same thing

Imagine Scott either taps into his wolf side like season 4 where temporarily turns into monster wolf like Peter or have Peter and deucalion have their spark as alphas temporarily awaken to fightbit like Derek gave up his alpha status to heal cora but in this since Peter and deucalion are healthy and already have a spark as alpha Scott could reawaken that spark and have a3 way battle against the beast he could also use this in order for him and Liam to no longer fight like a true alphas strength is in his pack so giving the spark to Liam to save hayden makes sense also in the battle against the nogitsune ethan and aiden and Derek should've have their alpha status reawaken for some time at least temporarily as a true alpha power I mean base on how a regular alpha like Derek can do it along with how Peter taught Derek how to do it perhaps it's the perfect power upnfor Scott without relying on his beast form

A man who drank water trodden by a werewolf, there is no report of another that has been transformed like that, that's why it's so different. it's not a bite, not even a scratch, it's like it transcends "genetics", it looks much more like it's been possessed by something, so much so that the beast's act of transforming is as if they've been enveloped by darkness. It is much more "mystical" than "cell".
