I have a steel mirror cell with slings from 1965. 18pt cell, made by Baker-Nunn and 280 lbs. 18 pt. Support essentially the same. Bet its an old design..

How are the triangls mounted? Is there just a screw straight through?

hey is it ok to directly place 10 inch mirror on flat piece of wood for ? will it work as mirror cell or it will damage it ?

Good question! For proper support you CANNOT have a single, continuous, flat surface behind the mirror such as a flat piece of wood. The primary mirror will change shape and flex over the course of the night as the ambient temperature changes, so you want several independent contact points supporting the backside of the mirror that will tip/tilt with the mirror's flexure. A flat board cannot possibly do that, hence all premium telescopes utilize what are called Flotation Cells that really allow the primary mirror to "float" so the mirror is not constricted.
