I own a similar and I love it. 1 year without problems.

good tech repair tutorial, i encourage you to do some more. As a person who has to fix friends and family issues all the time, video likes these remind me of how others do the same. Funny how most 10 min jobs turn out to take 30 or longer lol.

Thank you I have an older version that broke a year ago, (no green ring) with the same issue! I have not even looked at fixing since it died. Thank you for the video. I will try your fix! I am glad I never throw things away!

I have an older one of these. The one with the mini light on the end of the bar. Was working on the car one time and forgot it was still stuck underneath and when the car came down it broke the plastic part that holds the bar. The light still works but now it's been fixed with good ol duct tape. It no longer swivels but all the lights work which is all that I care about. I could buy another but these are $30 a pop.

I have a few of those older ones, but I would only buy them when they went on sale for like $19. I love the light at the end for looking in tight places. One of them I dropped one time and it hit the ground hard, and has had issues since then. I haven't tried taking it apart yet, since it doesn't seem to easily come apart, but maybe I should give it a shot.

@@ThatElectronicsFool I was going to say bypass that barrel connector because that seems to be the weak spot but you fixed it. I checked online on HF and they go for $30 and I also looked on amazon and they had similar ones (non braun) but all cheaply made in china. At least HF has some quality.

I love seeing that I'm not the only dope that spends a bunch of time to figure out what's going on with something broken when, usually, it would've been much more cost effective just to buy a new one. I don't care if I'm "losing money" by fixing it, I would rather fix it than send it to a landfill. BTW, why have that light section detachable? Can you shoot it at people? That would be cool.

I'm not the owner of that flashlight, but from what I've seen, it was supposed to come with an extension that you could use in between the base and the light. It also originally came with a separate light that could be attached to the base that could be used as a regular, forward facing flashlight. I suppose you could swing the thing towards someone while shouting "LIGHTNING BOLT" and pull the release ring back at the right time so that it launches towards them.
