I remember seeing this on Coop's channel when they came out and just having no interest whatsoever after his review. I think honestly, it doesn't have to made by Hasbro, but nerfers are pretty loyal to the standard nerf dart, or megas. when boomco for instance tried to come up with "familiar but not exactly the same" type of ammo it was also pretty ignored, least in long term.

It's equivalent to what happens for gun people, if you make a gun chambered in 9mm, but it's a special proprietary 9mm that you can only get from select dealers, well that's nice but I'll just take a glock and be able to get ammo anywhere. people don't want to have to adopt a new ammo type with their guns, so unless it offers a lot, it will be ignored

@@thornr.hylian5275 You see, with firearms it makes sense, you want your gun to be reliable because your life may depend on it some day, new ammo types which are untested or have been tested way less than 9mm for example maybe cause malfunctions even in a known mechanical system, and if a caliber is popular it means that you can buy it cheaper from more companies which may experiment with better versions of that You can apply some of these lessons to nerf darts, they are a form factor which people like and find cool, they can be adapted for higher performance or a gimmick and many manufacturers make them, as well as being pretty good ammo they are easy to find, rubber bands not at all

Woooweeee, this is a blast from the past. I honestly forgot about these things... They looked cool, were pretty darn comfy, and the way they worked was very cool, but maaaaaaaan were these never going to last on the market. Just like MaxForce or Xploderz. The hollow grip makes me wonder about using it as an internal mag for a Rival. Particularly a CO2 cartridge one, where the trigger is being used more to open/close a sear for the co2 to replace a plunger driven cylinder. Slide the cylinder in from the front underbarrel ... not sure if it'd present a smaller form factor than the Kronos but it could be used to make a semi-auto Kronos that operates more like a normal pistol slide or GBB airsoft pistol.

I think tek recon would have done better if it had used darts of just about any kind or even something like rival ammo or vortex ammo cause whether the ammo was a proprietary one or something kinda strange like rival or vortex ammo it would still be easier to find or replicate. Cause i always wanted to get one but the ammo is what held me back from buying one

Speaking of Japanese culture, I always wondered why there isn't any dart blasters based off of Anime weapons like the Wing Gundam's Buster Rifle or something. Maybe not from Nerf, Zuru, Buzz Bee or Dart Zone, but maybe some Japanese company like Takara Tomy or something. Maybe there is and I'm not looking hard enough.
