It's comforting to know that, if I ever get bored of working in a nice, clean, sheltered aircraft hangar, there's a job waiting for me, out in the mud, rain and snow like these 2 legends. Great job getting it done in tough conditions!

Slightly off topic but , do you have a chain press for splitting track links? If so , what style/brand do you use? Merry Christmas 🎄
@Tmjpwns3 жыл бұрын
Cat/OTC works very well for the many 345-352 tracks I've split.
@BluTechEquipment3 жыл бұрын
I don't use a track press, even on larger equipment where a 150T would be required. I've done up to a Hitachi EX700 with out a press, we got some tricks, call us hacks but as an independent without an unlimited corporate budget, sometimes you just gotta "$@#* with the @#&$ you got". Maybe one day I'll purchase something but I learned this way and after using a press at the dealer, I'm faster splitting my way than setting up the press.
@duncandmcgrath62903 жыл бұрын
@@BluTechEquipment I’m probably going build one ,I’ve got a 1/2 dozen pins and bushings to do on my machine… figured a press would be easier. It’s an old Cat 215 on our family farm , not really worth anything.

That torch tip does not sound good Cam. And yes, hose or wire handles are great for pin-punches.
@BluTechEquipment3 жыл бұрын
Yea the nice part with the hose chunk is being able to swap out ends on the same handle, easier to store a bunch of different size drifts and one handle. I don't think my acetylene was high enough, usually what causes popping and backfires. I typically run 14/40, 14 psi acetylene and 40 psi ogen. Popping is especially noticeable with rose buds as they demand high gas flow.
@Tmjpwns3 жыл бұрын
Mine sounds like that when slag gets in there. But isn't Alberta a bit chilly to work in with nothing but the cab to warm up in? I'm basically as far north as it gets and 95% of us use vans, while the rest uses boxtrucks.

Excellent concept, just need to work on the editing. Less is more. Adjust the track, position the truck, torch the pin. Cut out all the filler, and improve the audio pickup and you'll have 1M subscribers with 500K views per video.
