@@TekamoHD just a good quality mechanics glove. Something that can take abuse from diesel fuel and DEF fluid ,but is of breathable material . I usually wear Grease Monkey brand gloves , but they don't breathe well in the heat for areas like where I work in South Carolina. We hit at least high 90's with 100% humidity in the summer months

Couldn’t agree more on packing a lot of water out there while I’m not in Canada, I spend every one of my work days on a pipeline right of way in backwoods West Virginia. there’s nothing worse than being stuck on top of a ridge on a big job with a hour or more drive to anything and not having water!

I’ve been a mobile mechanic for the past 23 years, working on power line utility equipment. I would quit before I would go work in a shop. Sometimes the weather sucks but it’s way more entertaining and challenging to fix stuff with not much more than tools.

Need to start doing like the pipelines do. Make you a little grill on the back of the truck. Start the coals and season the steak then work until she's ready to go. Takes 2-3min a side. Better than a granola bar any day

You'd be surprised how many are like this tbh. It's more of an issue with 1. Being comfortable on camera and your family being comfortable with that and 2. Alot of companies/properties won't let you film so guys that have reoccurring customers that they are on call for just aren't suited for the role.

These mechanics are worth every penny they charge because downtime costs money and could cost you the contract! Due to health problems I can't do the mechanics job, but I do camp watch for my cousin who owns a logging company and because of my former job he will get me to watch the mechanics that he flies into camp to do repairs while shut down unless he has a full-time hired mechanic! And the twisted sense of humor is mandatory for the job! Peace, Love and Respect

I'm with this dude, I'd rather be working out there in the bush than in the city. Sucks in the middle of winter sometimes, guessing it doesn't get as cold there in BC as it does here in Onterrible but the mountains are probably way more unpredictable. Depends how far north you are I suppose. Worked just over the border from Alberta in Dawson's Creek when I was younger and it was definitely cold af.

I am a locomotive mechanic we have to torque the crab nuts at 2400 ft. pounds. We had a hydraulic one that we used to use was noisy, they air one we have now is so much quieter.

I can’t believe he torched the link to get the pin out and welded it. Your way better off piercing the remaining parts of the pin and hammering them out that way you don’t weaken the link dramatically.

It’s a fine repair. The pin is now welded to the link making them one piece. I’ve done that repair and I’ve never had the link break after

First time I saw a torque multiplier being used I thought the same thing, why the eff am I vibrating my butt off with an impact when these things exist. I'm not a mechanic but an underground hard rock miner and spent 27 yrs on a jackleg and stopers so whenever I can avoid the vibrations of impact tools I will. Enjoyed the video, real life stuff is the best, especially watching a pro get the job done and have a laugh.

You guys are the reason im going to AG equipment school I just about got my degree in welding. So when caption weldamatic here pushed that rod it kind of hurt me but, if she holds she holds I guess. They didn't have heavy duty past the big trucks right. So I'm going to learn how to fix tractors and hope it translates over to the yellow meow meows. It should because the classes are super in-depth. Time will tell. Thanks for being a positive influence. Looking forward to getting some tools and stickys. God bless and all things for His glory.
