Thank you for useful and worthy Tekken3 tips. In South Korea, Heihachi, Lei and Jin are considered to be top tier characters. Of the three, Heihachi is considered to be slightly stronger. Heihachi may be considered questionable, but his mid-range WGF makes up for any remaining shortcomings. After that, Nina Williams and Normal Ogre are ranked.

There are combos you've showed which involve front roll, I mean after a KND, your character front rolls and you do a combo, like this Jin combo you showed at 2:45. Yes, front roll combos are unblockable for all characters if the distance was far enough. At close distance, no. Anna lacks a mid that pushes her forward, she has no good move to initiate the attack, so she is conditioned to run around and do punch combos all the time (lucky for her, hers are strong enough). And it's true, most characters have tools to initiate an attack, so that does make Anna stand out. In fact, Anna received a mid forward pushing move as soon as Tekken Tag 1, which became her most spammable move. Figures. I'd say mids/lows/highs are fundamentals, but punishes are more advanced. Knowing your launchers and juggles is fundamental. It's not necessary to know the best juggles, but a beginner should at least always do SOME juggle for each launcher. An intermediate player (above fundamental) would learn punishes, good juggles, which moves to use and which not to, ground hitting moves, low parry follow-ups, punch parry follow-ups, reversal follow-ups, unblockables, grab follow-ups, when and how to quick roll (that one is a deep subject that can be improved upon again and again), etc. A master would not only know his character very well, but have a good idea about all characters, matchups, strengths and weaknesses of each, would know most/all grab cancels, would take full advantage of movement, etc.

bruh, Ogre is definitely S tier with his waning moon. True Ogre looses to everyone with a true +17 slash kick, because it hits him grounded and can be spammed on him with nothing he can really do about it.

He is not "fundamentally fair", like, AT ALL. His damage is ridiculous. He has the best SS in the game. He controls space very well with his f+2. Also, fyi, the WS2 stun is not "inconsistant"; WS2 just doesnt stun crouching opponents (thats why its not a mixup tool, like you´re suggesting); it needs a clean (close) hit to stun. CH alone doesnt stun, either, btw; it always needs a clean hit. To close this on a friendly note, yeah, we can agree to disagree and overall I really like the video! Take care.

@@Zakillah -A throw being unbreakable is hardly an advantage in Tekken 3, throws are generally unbreakable due to small frame window for breaks -Nina's df,df1 grab with follow-up deals 75 damage guaranteed, Ogre's Waning Moon gets 65-70 and there is no oki after, whatever setup you are thinking of is inconsistent, and I don't see people talk about her grab -"He is not fundamentally fair, his damage is ridiculous". You might notice that is what I said, he has grossly overtuned damage on normal tools. Fix the damage and you end up with a normal character. Or simply remove f,f1+2 as an option -Almost all characters in Tekken 3 have good SS, Ogre has nothing special about it -WS 2 can apply stun at big distance too and it can also fail to apply stun at close distance, it depends on the angle which is practically inconsistent as you can't always predict whether it will stun or not -WS 2 is a good hit even without stun so my point about mixup stands

Also, how to deal with incessant poking with characters who don't have poking potential? How to break through constant poking? @@sneharashmi7553 Hedgehog playstyle implies not attacking and only doing keepout moves - hitting air in front of you and hoping opponent will walk into your hits. There is no antidote to poking, you have to block and try find a moment to hit yourself. You can also try building distance. My King vs Nina video shows how King overcomes a poking monster, my Anna vs Jin video shows how to die to a poking monster, it all comes down to very small details, they can't be summarized. It is possible to beat top tiers with low tiers, one such fight is my Dr.B vs Ogre, another is Hwo vs Lei. Discrepancy between S and A tier is very small, same with A and B and B and C. But beating S with B is already very tough, or A with C etc.

Think Yoshi's rating is slightly off. Instead of having punishment, which i think should definitely be rated higher, he should have Oki in S due to setups with his unblockables. Furthermore, Yoshimitsu's jab is also like King's 2,1 jab string where it can combo into itself. Allowing Yoshi to get great damage off of a 10 frame punish. Also it's widely known that True Ogre, despite sharing many strengths with Ogre in 3, is one of the worst characters due to his hurtbox being so big on the ground that a number of characters can infinitely combo him. Others will still be able to obtain greater combos as well on him. So while he has many strengths he will possibly die off of a single knockdown.

It was definitely not a true combo, but against Mashers or someone who is just not blocking it was kind of damaging! The combo was b,f,2,1 Ch stun, then b,f,2,1,d+2 then juggle b,f,2,1,2. Did a ton of damage if they took all the hits! Nearly the whole life bar! Again definitely not a true combo, I think you can break the done after the BF21 counter hit but still kind of cheap versus newer players lol!

Yes, it could be argued that Heihachi is A tier. I estimate him as the strongest fair character (top of B tier) because wavedash and strong launchers are still interactable, while something like Nina/Anna 50/50 pressure or Julia's frame pressure or Ogre's damage output or Gon/Dr.B's size etc. are not interactable, making their advantage more oppressive.

How is Bryan C Tier despite having two S-values?

Overall the characters all have many values and only 3 most notable ones are shown per character. Jin has more S or S+ values than 3, for one. Bryan has amazing poking and can channel his short strings and pokes into a flurry of consistently safe pressure, but statistically he will still lose more health against an opponent who can launch him while trading hits. Bryan lacks a fundamental part of a character - good launchers. If he had a good value on that, he would be a higher tier for sure.

@@CoolDima09 Simply put, it's done in comparison to other characters. A tier is for characters that have some aspect that they enforce ragardless of skill, like Nina's 50/50 forces free damage statistically and has overtuned launchers and grabs, but besides that she is a normal character. S tier is for characters who have most aspects about them be unfair, Lei Ling Eddy are forcing characters in almost every aspect, from basic stance to specific stances to amount of good safe moves, they straight up disable part of opponents' toolkit, similarly to Dr.B and Gon. Jin is S tier only with a dedicated controller and months of Jin-specific practice, otherwise he is A. Heihachi is definitely at least at top of B tier, but there is nothing too forcing about him, his hellsweeps are broken in 2d, but are pretty steppable, meaning on skill levels above intermediate, he has no truly forcing tools and depends solely on execution.

It's on oversight. The character model was not programmed to be interacted with at that state. To catch that state before it becomes normal you need to be VERY fast, it's very difficult, takes a lot of time to record. learn 37 combos with an fighter makes absolute no sense. 1. learn all attackstrings and attacks to use in fight. 2. learn the strongest 1-2 combos for every opener. 3. learn just one juggling combo. the strongest! if you learn more its no skill and you wont get better. its wasted lifetime !!
