I remember when this came out in arcades, even though most people didn't like it I still enjoyed it with a group of regulars. Every week a new character would be revealed as the new sub-boss (the dude you fought just before Heihachi) and would could be randomly chosen from the random square. The following week they would become playable on the character select screen, and a new sub-boss would unlock. People lost their collective shit when Jin was the sub-boss, and they were kind of put off that he played almost nothing like he did in Tekken Tag. After that they all went back to Tekken Tag and me and my friends just kept playing 4.

@@ashwolfgang3894 I am not Crazy. Tekken Tag Tournament Outfits were way more accurate to how they looked in Tekken 3 and Tekken the Motion Picture is How Young Kazuya in Tekken 1 and 2 Looked like. Julia in Tekken 3 Timeframe should look like how she did in Tekken 3( Tekken 7 Julia is 20 but Tekken 3 Julia is 18) and not Tekken 7 where she's Somewhat older Which isn't accurate. Tekken 3 is one of the most popular Tekken games and to not have their looks accurate is a Disgrace.

I know translation doesn't need to be literal and that literal translations can be outright wrong at times, but Namco Bandai screws up on occasion. "They all thought I was out of the game" is actually "I'm a man who should be dead". This tells us Kazuya himself almost can't believe he managed to survive the volcano. That's not such a big deal. Saying everyone wrote him off as dead also conveys the message that his survival was unexpected, but... "You deluded fool" is flat out wrong. Heihachi actually says "(So) You didn't die". He as well almost can't believe it. Namco's translation makes it seem like Heihachi is saying "Just try it. You'll fail" while the actual one shows how speechless Heihachi is. EDIT: Actually, it turns out the official translation is kinda accurate in an indirect way. It's just that the phrase and its connotations are tricky to translate to English well. See David Curry's comments under this.

Don't blame Namco, blame Moms of America. Censorship was HUGE in the 90s & millennium. We are so spoiled with games now. Gaming was not allowed to use words like Dead, kill, terminate, exterminate, anything involving taking a life. I checked "shini zoko" on Jisho dictionary and got the following: jisho.org/search/shinizoko "1. person who has escaped death; failed suicide 2. person who has outlived their time; dotard; doddering old man​" So the message seems to be that Heihachi is irritably saying "That death-escaping rascal. Why won't he just die". It can be translated in many ways, but I just can't see how "You delusional fool" conveys the meaning.

I know fighting games are never sory driven, especially return of Heihachi confirms this, but Tekken 8 should've been at least more story driven than its successors.
