While making the Lei Season 2 Changes video, it was so long that we basically decided to convert it into an Essentials. Think of this as a Changes / Essentials hybrid, as well as a prototype for the new format we’re adopting for Season 2 of Essentials. A few notable changes: - Instead of simply going over a Top Move list, the focus is now instead on explaining the moves within the context of how they should be used. - Title-cards are shorter and snappier to maintain pacing. - The meaning of each frame data value is explained at the beginning of the video. This is later removed to prevent the screen from getting too cluttered. - Music tracks and artists are listed in the bottom right. - Combos aren’t narrated anymore (unless you count Mokujin) to maintain pacing. Breakdowns will still keep the comprehensive move-by-move formula, but for Essentials this should allow us to convey as much information as succinctly as possible. Having said that we’re still developing this new format, so your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I loved this work but there were more changes in this character removed many transitions that had in the ttt2 as the fn 3 2 ss and appeared dragon now only tiger comes out and many more things that were removed but especially the name that hurt me a lot but is the best video so far that talks about this character thanks That Blasted Salami I subscribe defensively

Total Destruction maybe but I'd say he's pretty close to a gateway to lei in term of stances besides hwaorong. His stances usually only consists of 2-3 moves each. But for playstyle not so much as Lei mostly plays a patient game compared to Miguel I believe

@@totaldestruction152 Compare to Miguel, I would say Lei is worth it to master because the moment you started clicking with Lei, you realized you had more options on both defense and offense compare to Miguel's restrictive option. Lei is likea vortex of mixup because you have to guess betwen 2 of his dangerous option of low and mid. A good Lei is actually way harder to deal with then a Good Xiaoyu and Feng.

This is a very good starting guide for anyone that wants to get their feet wet with Lei and just getting started. While there is a few moments of misinformation and also some details left out that make a difference. It’s overall a good starting point.

Yeah, especially when they mentioned that b2, 4 is not hit confirmable that hurts because it's a hit confirmable string just like Kazumi, Jin and Heihachi's df1, 2 so the timing is pretty strict with a reliable high crush... (although, it's not like tiger 2,2 that u have a lot of time to hit confirm) I like to use it at the wall for a high dmg wall splat..

Ws2,1: In TTT2 is -10 block punishable and the second hit on ch launch, in T7 is -9 on block but now don't launch anymore. bb1: Removed, now can be performed only by PHX1 3nb3: Removed the cancel on the second hit Fn41u: Transition into DRA removed. df3: Now u can do a wallcombo uf+3+4,3+4: second hit removed. Those are small changes but...meh i dunno why they do them. Btw the video is still great.

I'm a Lei main. I agree with almost everything you said accept the very last part, "A Tier". I would not put Lei in A tier, yeah he has a lot of mix up potential but a lot of them are just risky 50/50s. He does have a lot of scary set ups though. His damage is not that great either, high damage combos are pretty hard to land and Lei will want to go for a lot of resets and mix ups instead of high damage. Also, I wish you would have inculded his high damage combo set up, using 3 as a tail spin, holding back to enter Phoenix, then ending the combo with back 4, 4. Very great video, really informative for people trying to pick up Lei. Lei is not picked online a lot or in the tourney seen, so I am really excited to see more people using him, especially in tourney, he is really fun to watch. Love your videos, keep up the good stuff. I will be picking up and learning Julia next so I can't wait for your Julia video. 😀👍🏾

@zeokenX zeokenX zeokenX zeokenX Well, I don't feel like typing but I would still diagree, his damage potential is low, his stance transitions are un safe and plus frames does not make a character good, what I mean is that a lot of characters have attacks that are plus on block are most are better then Lei. A LOT of his "mix ups" revolve around 50/50s, if the opponent guess or reads you, you are getting punished. Sure, Lei has plus on block moves but so do other characters, with better and more practical follows ups and pressure and options, such as the Mishimas, King and AK, Miguel, Lucky Chloe, Noctis, Nina, Dragonov, Bryan. You are basing how good he is just cause he has some plus on block moves. Which other characters have. Not only that but his poking game is not as good as you think and DEFINITELY not on Ninas level, the reason why is cause you have to be extremely close to the opponent due to Lei having some of the shortest range on his moves in the game. He lacks range on a lot of his attacks. Entering stances from moves can get you punished as well. Panther Stance: I don't know why you are acting like 1+2 is bad to use, regardless if you just press 1 or not, it can still be low parried, so instead of going for a follow up they may or may not not work, it is more logical to go for the confirmed damage, knock down, or wall splat, and continue pressure or set up for a new mix up situation for the opponent. Also, Panther 1 by itself, on hit, seperates Lei and the opponent quite a bit which makes possible follows hard. Panther 1+2 Is better then just Panther one cause it wall splats and is a hard knock down. I would most likely take confirmed damage over a "possible follow up". Tiger stance: Again, a 50/50. the wall bounce is slow, but good due to the push back on block however, the opponent is put into full crouch after Tiger one and almost everyone in the cast has a quick while rising 4 to hit (some even having fast, 13 frame launchers, I believe an example of this is Kazuya), so at best it is going to end up trading unless your opponent is too afraid to press buttons. And even if you don't trade, congrats you hit them with a poke, now you are back in neutral. Most are going to attempt to guess the 2, 2 or the 4 option which is a 50/50, both launch punishable with the max amount of damage without a wall is ending the combo with the tornado kicks from Phenoix, which is still low even for a "Max damage" combo. Basically, your argument is providing mix ups and set ups you can do, however there are other characters that simply just have stronger tools. To say that Lei's poking game is on Nina's level is extremely laughable and flawed. On most pro players tier list, he is either low mid tier or mid tier at best. Plus on block moves is not all that makes a good character. Lei revolves around mix ups, set ups, and 50/50s. Putting him at A is a stretch, he is not high tier at all. At best he is mid high tier. You can win with every character in the game though. I am not saying Lei is bad but he is definitely not high tier. Please do not ignore the kit of other characters, cause if your argument is. "He has this set up, this set up, and a couple of plus moves", then every character is going to be high tier, cause every character has plus moves, hard-to-block mix ups, and set ups (Some even being stronger then Lei's, like Steve, Hworang, and Xiaoyu). You are ignoring his low damage, short range, unsafe stance transitions, and unsafe moves in general. This is is why I personally put Lei, at best, B+ tier. Mid high tier.

You are ignoring his flaws and ignoring the tools that other characters have. Also, if you look at King Jae's Tier List and RunItBlack, both put Lei at mid tier. Lastly, the moment you started insulting is the very moment I will no longer be replying, if you are incapable of having a reasonable and logical discussion without being insulting or toxic then there is no point.
