Thanks very informative video I didn't knew what a back dash was

Thank you so much man, I'm learning a lot thanks to you! I would also find very useful a continuation about how to improve your movement in general around the stage, how to combine backdash, dash and sidestep. Sometimes I feel like a dummy while the opponent doesn't stop to make me whiff just of his/her movement.

Eh i disagree. Normal bbn, bbn, bbn backdash without cancel is better than the two first methods. Quarter circle back is especially bad if you get used to doing thst method and then later on decide to switch main to someone with a backsway. It's harder to unlearn bad habits than it is to learn harder but more efficient methods.
@gadzinasan3 ай бұрын
absolutely it's just bad executed kbd and shouldn't be learned. Bad habit

What I really want to know is if there is any real benefit to KBD over wave dash back aside from if you play a sway character.
@Snuredrams10 ай бұрын
KBD is safer on block against mids I believe. QCB puts you in crouch for a split second.
@ShadeZD.O.10 ай бұрын
@@Snuredrams appreciate it. Maybe that's why I'm getting hit on backdash sometimes

KBD seems so hard with characters that have sway. Like i always have to sidestep backdash otherwise i get hit while in sway
@dp-2win957 ай бұрын
Characters with sway you have to do the actual KBD (Expert version) in order for it to work.

This is great, as a long time 2D fighting gamer, the movement in Tekken has taken some getting used to. A few questions for you: 1. How do you do backdash #2 with a sway character, like Paul? 2. How much better is the KBD than #2? I can KBD a bit but not consistently and it kills my hands after a while lol.
@ExSoldier10111 ай бұрын
It kills my hand too lol. I find after 2 or 3 my hand is done but it's usually more than enough to create space

1. unfortunately you cannot do the reverse wavedash for backsway characters. i do the sidestep backdash because i cant do kbd fluently enough for it to be a better option. 2.kbd is at least a little better than reverse wavedash because you are always blocking either stand block or crouch blocking (reverse wavedash there is a down input in there so you can get caught out sometimes), and also it's just more fluent as a backdash anyway. it might not make a huge difference, but my feeling is that every little helps, especially at the highest level of play. but for most online you can get away with reverse wavedash imo, alot of tekken players use this backdash.

Great Video ! How do u practice frametraps? and can u show us some with reina
@ExSoldier10111 ай бұрын
Hey, I know you didn't ask me but I'll share my method. In training, when I go through a characters move list I'll set the option I think it's called "action after being hit or block" and set that to stand block. I'll also set up dummy to block all. And then set the punish option to do a jab. Once all that is set, anytime I hit the dummy they will immediately jab as soon as possible. From here I'll try out various moves to see what is safe, what move of mine can be interrupted, etc. One frame trap I use often (although it has its weaknesses, i use it just to punish mashers) is f3 >4, u1. If they try to jab interrupt me after f3>4 my u1 will hit on counter hit and I can continue my pressure. This is just one example.

A specific guide would be; how to win matches consistently. Not like: use this character to win cause they're broken. But rather the mindset and fundamentals to winning consistently.

KBD doesn't have down input or you'll get a sway move. PhiDX has a better KBD tutorial.
